Send'em Off Smiling is a registered charity which was founded in 1994 to provide school clothing and supplies for local children in need. We rely on teachers to identify those children who will benefit most from the program. We know from teacher feedback that the program does an exemplary job of "connecting the dots" between child poverty, learning readiness, and the future prospects of these children.

THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS!!! We had a lot of hard-working, dedicated volunteers help us pack all of the backpacks over the summer, and we are so, so thankful for all of their help! After today, all of the backpacks will be packed and ready to be delivered, just in time for back to school! 🎒

D2L is proud to once again support Send ’Em Off Smiling and their incredible Pack-a-Backpack Campaign! 🎒

This meaningful initiative helps children across the Waterloo Region start the school year with the supplies and essentials they need to feel prepared, confident and ready to learn.

This year, D2Lers came together to sponsor 10 children and donate 35+ additional back-to-school items to help support even more students in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this possible. We’re grateful to be part of an initiative that brings our community together and helps students head back to school with a smile. 💚
