Love your kids! Try not to look too far down the road and worry about what's present now. Trust your gut and react when you need to. Not all kids want to attend a group or counselling - let them know there are options when and if they wish.

Men’s Mental Health Day reminds us how important connection and community are in grief.

So many widowed dads carry loss quietly while trying to support their children and keep moving forward.

In the hour of , we'd like to highlight one of our widowed support groups. Our Dads Group creates space for men to show up as they are — to talk, listen, vent, laugh, and connect with others who truly understand. Grief can feel isolating, but healing happens in community. No one should have to carry it alone. Link to register in our bio.

For widowed parents, milestones can bring the ache of “they should be here.”

For children and teens, graduations can deepen the absence of the parent who should be cheering them on.

At Hummingbird, we hold space for all of it — the pride, the grief, the love, and the missing.

Grief can change your address book - sometimes we lose friends (which is another loss to grieve over), but often we gain new ones. Many of our Hummingbird parents have created beautiful friendships that have become a vital part of their healing. They celebrate birthdays, travel and just have good belly laughs together! New friendships - a thorny gift that comes from grief.
