A table full of food and a room full of community. 🧡🍂

On Friday, our KW AccessAbility community came together for Thanksgiving dinner. A chance to share a meal, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the connections that bring us together.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers for preparing the meal and helping make the gathering possible. From peeling vegetables to bringing out the turkey, your time and care made it special!

To our members, volunteers, and friends: we’re grateful for you.

Pancakes, sausages, and plenty of smiles! 🥞💙🤍

This morning, we gathered at KW AccessAbility to celebrate Oktoberfest with delicious food, lovely company, and lots of fun!

A big, BIG thank you to Emile Brown and John Brown for helping us prepare the pancakes and sausages, and to our lovely volunteer, Caelin, for lending a hand and making the morning extra special. 💙

From generous support to new possibilities for our members. 💚

Our Executive Director, Edward Faruzel, shares a heartfelt thank you to MAX Power Mining for supporting our annual golf tournament. Your generosity is helping KW AccessAbility establish a Meta AI glasses program that could be a game changer for our members.

On October 1, we came together for a workshop led by Ron, our PHIRST LINK Computing Manager, to explore AI-powered smart glasses, their potential benefits in everyday life, and our plans for future learning sessions.

It was a chance to ask questions, share ideas, and imagine how this technology could support greater independence and connection for our members.

We also enjoyed a beautiful meal prepared by Rob, a lovely way to finish a day of learning together. Thank you, Ron and Rob, and to everyone who joined us!

What a wonderful day connecting with future volunteers! 💜

KW AccessAbility was happy to take part in Wilfrid Laurier University’s Community Volunteer Fair yesterday, September 29. We loved meeting students, hearing about their interests, and sharing how they can get involved in our community.

At KW AccessAbility, we help adults with physical disabilities connect, learn, and engage in community life. Our volunteers help make these opportunities possible, and we’re excited to welcome new faces to the KWA family!

Thank you to Wilfrid Laurier University and the Career Development Centre for hosting us, and to everyone who stopped by our table. Your enthusiasm made our day!

On Wednesday August 19th we held our annual Teddy Bear Picnic in Waterloo Park. Giving back to our community is important to our members who brought teddy bears to donate to the firefighters from Waterloo Fire Department, so that they can distribute them to children in hospitals. Thanks to Waterloo Fire for picking up the teddy bears in their aerial ladder truck.
