πŸ•―οΈ International Overdose Awareness Day - August 31st

Today is a global day to remember lives lost to drug poisoning and support those affected. It’s a time to raise awareness, fight stigma, and promote harm reduction.

This Year’s Theme: One Big Family, Driven by Hope.
Together, we can turn grief into action and build a future where no one dies from a preventable overdose.

🚨 How to Get Involved:
β€’ Attend a local vigil or event
β€’ Learn how to use naloxone (Narcan)
β€’ Turn your city purple! A single request can illuminate a local landmark and shine a spotlight on the overdose crisis.

πŸ•―οΈ Light a candle. Share a story. Save a life. πŸ’œ

This Sunday, our Care & Connect respite clients rolled up their sleeves and whipped up homemade pizza dough using Greek yogurt and flour for lunch and to top off a sweet day, they created their own banana splits for dessert! 🍨

Exciting things are cooking at The Opportunity Centre! 🍽️

Our crafty cooks, Tina and Ally, are loving their new oven and the flat-top grill has quickly become a favorite for making delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. πŸ§€πŸ₯ͺ Which also pair nicely with their stellar soups.

To top it all off, they also whipped up some tasty no-bake cheesecakes! 🍰

We're so proud of their hard work and creativity in the kitchen.
Great job team! πŸ‘β€οΈ
