CALLING PRIDE LEADERS: JOIN 30 YEARS OF LOCAL HISTORY AND SHAPE ITS FUTURE!
🏳️‍🌈
It’s been a while since we made capacity for and had energy to pour intention into widening the table of tri-Pride! Our vision is to decentralize tri-Pride which demands radical participation. We’re starting with growing our Board numbers and Pride leadership!
🌱
You’ve seen what we can do and we’re inviting your gifts, skills, and capacity into transforming that. Find the skills-based application in our bio or website alongside information on what it means to be on the Board.
📝
We recognize volunteerism is threatened by increased economic & social precariousness, especially for vulnerable folks like many in our own community. We wish to practice care & flexibility in how folks share their offerings with us and so there is lots of room on the table to play with level of commitment, types of engagement, and participation that meets needs!
💗
We welcome questions to [email protected]

Can’t wait to meet our prospective leaders in tri-Pride!

🌈🍦DID SOMEBODY SAY ICE CREAM?🍦🌈

is a beloved household name across Waterloo Region known for their commitment to hand-crafted ice cream using all-natural, locally-sourced ingredients in order to provide a better choice for all ice cream lovers who want to indulge in a sweet treat without compromise to their well-being. Their ethics, long-local history & dedication to joy make them a delicious Pride partner and we’re thrilled to have their support with a mini tri-Pride fundraiser!

This Saturday, visit either of their 2 locations and purchase your favorite flavour in a delectable cone dipped in smooth chocolate and coated in their all-natural sprinkles. Every cone purchase will support your very own volunteer-driven Pride organization, tri-Pride!

Get your ice cream on, KWC!

Pride has and always will be a collective labour of love. As a small volunteer team, we strive to embody that in every move we make, including the stage design, art, and installations at your PRIDE IN THE PARK. Pride work, in our ethics, necessitates consideration of people, planet & progress.
🤎
Our installations at SUMMERFEST 2026 – from the stage backdrop made of stitched fabric by to the stage wrap made of cardboard co-created by and to the reflective banners with celestial creatures made of mylar & cellophane crafted by to the plywood protest installations constructed by ; our work was intentionally built with up-cycled, reused and discarded materials. Let’s celebrate what we can do when we get creative, together!

Did you make the most of MEET & GREET with our PRIDE IN THE PARK 2026 HEADLINER ? Well, your photos are ready thanks to one of our festival photographers, Melissa. It was beautiful to witness meaningful connections full of joy, gratitude & solidarity between our community members and global superstar, PANGINA HEALS.

YOU ARE THE LIGHT

06/06/2026

🌈 THE LIGHT IS HERE 🌈

AND, it’s been an especially difficult lead up to Pride in the Park this year. Between a smaller leadership team, reduced funds & increased community unmet needs; we’ve done our very best for you Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge. With humility, we know we haven’t done everything as well as we wish. Despite that, we think we’ve poured our entire selves, hearts, souls, time & wallets into honouring 30 years of tri-city Pride. We wanted to share a short behind the scenes video to give you a glimpse into the journey to today!

The weather has turned in our favour and we can’t wait to celebrate, protest, and gather with you in a few moments.

With you, in darkness & in light, to the best of our abilities! Thank you for being here with us!

Gratitude to Aubrey for stitching this video together for us!

Together, we shine! 🤎

🌈THE LIGHT IS HERE 🌈

We are 2 hours away from the opening of PRIDE IN THE PARK 2026 - YEAR 30! So much love & labour has been poured into this event, for you, Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge; for us and our shared pasts, present & future!

We can’t wait to see you, meet you, hold you (with consent) and witness your truest authentic light SHINE!

With you,
-Tri-Pride

GOOD MORNING KITCHENER, WATERLOO & CAMBRIDGE! ITS PRIDE DAY!
🩷
As we do the finishing touches in the park; we felt it important to share who your 2026 SUMMERFEST team is! For a while now we’ve been feeling like it’s critical that our community knows who we are - as people and as your neighbours, friends, family members and colleagues. Many seem to think that tri-Pride Board Members are paid staff and have the capacity of employees. We’re flattered but you should know that this organization has always been held up by volunteers. From our small and mighty volunteer board to the community members that support in bringing events to life — for almost 30 years, tri-Pride has been volunteer run and grassroots oriented.
🩵
Meet the volunteer board members that devote their evenings and weekends to local Pride organizing because Pride is identity; Pride is our stories of pain and becoming. Pride is our practice of hope, solidarity, and connection. This team starts planning for SUMMERFEST back in December from inviting sponsors that enable us to offer a free space to our community to filing permits, engaging talent, mobilizing community and so much more.
🤎
Also meet the artists and creatives who have shared countless hours, materials, talents, and space with us to bring our vision of THE LIGHT IS COMING to life in the space.
🖤
You can find your tri-Pride team on Saturday in tri-Pride shirts and Melissa and Mandy with cameras wrapped around them running around! Say hi, share your gratitude and offer your support wherever possible. We can’t wait to see you, meet you and celebrate with you!

Photography by our very own Kamil. As you can see, we all wear lots of hats!

06/06/2026

It’s the night before Pride and in true tri-Pride tradition, we’re taking a small break from running around, completing tasks, preparing materials, picking up and dropping off things, sending emails and such to enjoy a beautifully q***r story read by our very own, Stephanie.

We hope this beloved book by one of our heroes and idols, Kai Cheng Thom: From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea offers you and your chosen families as much joy, calm & comfort as it does to us. Amidst all the work, we are reminded with humility and remind each other what this is all about and that is the freedom to be exactly who we are and to be seen, heard, held & loved in it.

Tomorrow, we hope we can offer the same feelings to you.

With you in darkness & in light, to the best of our abilities,
- your tri-Pride team 🤎
