MARIAH - FOSTER NEEDED/FOSTER TO ADOPT

Mariah is a 2-year-old, 45-lb Lab/Shepherd mix with one defining quality - she absolutely loves being with people and other dogs. She’s happiest when she has company and something going on, and everyone who meets her falls in love with her.

She’s friendly, playful, affectionate, and just as happy to settle down for some downtime. She loves all dogs, big and small, enjoys car rides, and is wonderful with young children. She’s also been good with cats, curious and a little cautious, but not inclined to chase.

Mariah is not a barker and has happily slept in a crate for months. When left completely alone, she can get anxious, so she would do best with another doggy companion. All she needs now is a family to recognize what a special girl she is and give her the forever home she’s been waiting for.

BOOTS — 5-Year-Old Shepherd/Husky Mix | 67 lbs 🐾

Meet Boots, a sweet, confident, and affectionate 5-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix who absolutely loves her people! Boots enjoys walks, being active, relaxing outside, and spending time with her humans. She has plenty of energy but would be happy with a family who simply wants a loving companion to include in their life. Boots walks well once she settles from the excitement of getting out of her kennel, travels nicely in the car, and does well in a crate, although she may occasionally whine or howl. She has a shorter attention span but is very people-oriented and eager to learn when she realizes there are rewards involved! Boots has prey drive and cannot live with cats or small animals. Her previous shelter reported that she did well with dogs her size, so a slow, proper introduction to another confident, similar-sized dog may be possible. Boots would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate girl to love and enjoy life with.

COOKIE – FOSTER NEEDED / FOSTER TO ADOPT

Cookie is a beautiful Lab mix, around 1 year old and 50 lbs. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, silly, and playful—and her adorable underbite gives her the cutest goofy grin! Her whole body seems to wag when she’s happy, and she truly wants to be everyone’s friend. ❤️

Cookie absolutely LOVES other dogs. Her favourite thing in the world is rough-and-tumble play, wrestling, chasing, and having a canine best friend. She would thrive with another large, playful dog—or multiple dogs—who can match her energy and enjoy her playful personality.

She would love a large yard, an active family committed to keeping her physically and mentally engaged, plenty of toys and playtime, and—most importantly—canine companionship!

Cookie has been living with children ages 3 and 6 and has been wonderful with them. She is gentle, affectionate, and does not jump up for attention. While she enjoys people, Cookie is truly a dog’s dog!

She loves tug toys (especially her durable Tuffy toys), being outside, and some fetch, but wrestling with another dog is her favourite! She is also a big chewer, so she needs plenty of appropriate toys. If bored, she may help herself to children’s toys or stuffies. 😅

Zane is a 1.5-year-old XL Bully, born January 11, 2025, weighing approximately 65 lbs. This big, beautiful boy grew up in a family home with children and is a very social, loving dog who enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs—especially bigger dogs! He is not suitable for a home with small dogs.

Zane is energetic, playful, and full of personality. He loves playing fetch and will thrive with a family that can give him plenty of exercise, attention, and continued socialization.

Because of his size, strength, and breed, an experienced handler is required, and previous Bully breed experience is mandatory. Zane is looking for a home with a secure yard and enough space for an XL dog. He is not looking for a home where he will be left alone all day—Zane wants to be part of the family and needs people who have the time and commitment to give him the life he deserves.

Zane currently requires vetting and is not yet neutered.

He must be fostered within the Kitchener-Waterloo area to ensure he can easily access the veterinary care and vetting he requires.

LOKI - FOSTER NEEDED FOSTER TO ADOPT

Loki is not currently in our care. He is scheduled to arrive September 19th, and needs a committed foster/foster to adopt.

Loki, affectionately known as “Low-Key,” is an easygoing, adaptable, and affectionate 4-year-old boy weighing approximately 44 lbs. Having spent time in multiple foster homes and boarding environments, Loki has proven himself to be an incredibly well-rounded and adaptable companion.

Loki is house-trained, crate-trained, non-destructive, and comfortable being left alone. He sleeps through the night, rides beautifully in the car, and gets along well with other dogs and children. He knows how to match his energy to his environment; equally happy relaxing beside you or joining you on a long adventure.

Loki was found near a bus station after being attacked by other dogs, but he has put that experience behind him and remains a friendly, happy boy. He has some cloudiness in one eye due to an old injury that affected his optic nerve, but his overall vision is good and no treatment is required.

Neutered, fully vaccinated, and low shedding, Loki is a sweet, polite, and loving companion who would make a wonderful addition to many different types of homes. Whether you are a first-time dog owner or looking for a calm and confident companion, Loki may be the perfect match.

ANNIE — 2-Year-Old Husky Mix | 50 lbs

Annie is a beautiful, incredibly loving and affectionate girl! She adores people and is happiest getting attention, going for walks, relaxing outside, or simply hanging out with her favourite humans. She’s energetic, confident, and loves being active.

Annie does well in a crate, may occasionally whine or howl, and travels very well in the car. She has prey drive and cannot live with cats or small animals. Her previous shelter reported that she did well with dogs her size, so a slow introduction to another confident, similar-sized dog may be possible.

Annie arrived with a previously broken front leg that healed improperly (malunion). Her veterinarian confirmed the leg is healed and surgery would not correct it. She can still use the leg and has an excellent energy level. She currently takes Carprofen once daily for comfort.

Annie has so much love to give and deserves a family who will give her the affection and companionship she’s been waiting for. 🐾💜

ROSA - FOSTER NEEDED/ FOSTER TO ADOPT

Rosa is a 2-year-old, 70 -pound Lab X Bully mix who is sweet, confident, affectionate, and easygoing. She loves to play, but she’s just as happy relaxing and enjoying some quiet time with her people. ROSA is a sweet, calm, and gentle girl who absolutely loves to snuggle! She’s a professional cuddler who loves toys, treats, children, and other dogs. Rosa LOVES playtime, and would do well in a home with other dogs and kids 8+. She walks beautifully on leash, is crate and house trained, and has no issues with excessive barking. Rosa does well in new situations and would make a wonderful companion

Rosa may also have some food insecurity from her past, as she was often hungry before coming into foster care. Her foster family has been mindful of this and feeds the dogs separately as a precaution. She has not shown any concerning behaviour, but a thoughtful family should continue to give her space and structure around meals. She would do best in a home with someone who has experience with the breed, and the space and time for a dog like Rosa.

Rosa has not been cat tested

Decompression is important for Rosa. She needs a family that understands there will be a transition period and she will need her time to feel safe.

Rosa is the kind of girl who doesn’t need much to be happy. She is sweet, affectionate, confident, adaptable and Rosa is ready for her forever home.

NIÑO — FOSTER NEEDED/FOSTER TO ADOPT 📣

Meet Niño, an adorable 1-year-4-month-old Shepherd/Lab mix weighing approximately 60lbs, He is a happy, intelligent, affectionate young dog who loves being active and involved with his people.

Niño would be an amazing match for an active family who enjoys walks, running, playing and spending time outdoors. He loves balls, walks, running and playtime, and he would do especially well with children over 10 who can keep up with his youthful energy.

Niño is very friendly with dogs of all sizes and is not reactive, even when off leash. He is comfortable with people around and can also happily spend some time alone. He has not been cat tested.

He is incredibly smart and already knows commands such as sit and down. With continued training, this boy has the potential to be an amazing companion! He is currently working on crate training and is doing well with his house training when given regular walks. He is also great in the car.

Niño is not a big barker, although he can jump up when he first sees you because he gets so excited and happy!

At 27 kg (59.4 lbs), this white-and-gray-coated boy is the perfect combination of fun, social, and obedient. Valentin has a medium energy level, walks well on a leash, and knows how to settle comfortably in his crate.Valentin loves being around people and enjoys having company.
