OZZY- AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Ozzy is a 5-year-old, 50 lb Chow Chow mix whose past hasn’t always been kind to him. When he first arrived, he was scared and unsure of the people around him. But with time, patience, and space, he’s begun to trust and the amazing dog underneath that fear is finally shining through.

Ozzy is well-mannered at home, fully house-trained, non-destructive, and happy to lounge on his own bed or come over when he’s ready for affection. He loves walks, zoomies in a fenced yard, stuffed toys, and a good lick mat. He’s a special boy who just needs people willing to understand him.

We want to be honest: Ozzy has a bite history and can be reactive and unpredictable, particularly around other dogs and when his collar is touched. His past trauma means he needs someone who respects his boundaries, never uses collar corrections, and is committed to patient, positive-reinforcement training. A quiet, adult-only home with experienced, understanding adopters would be ideal. Any potential canine companion would require a careful, proper introduction.

Ozzy deserves a home that sees beyond his struggles and gives him the safety, consistency, and compassion he needs to keep healing. Behind his fear is a dog who is learning to trust again.

BUSTER - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Buster has been in training all summer. He’s amazing ✨

Buster is a 2-year-old, 65 lb Akita mix who is smart, playful and quick to figure out his routines. He enjoys having fun but is just as happy settling down and relaxing with his people. He is house trained, comfortable being home alone, sleeps in his crate at night and loves car rides.

Buster can be slow to warm up to new people and doesn’t enjoy strangers getting into his personal space. He needs a family who will respect his boundaries and give him time to build trust rather than expecting him to be everyone’s best friend right away. He has not been cat tested and has not been around children.

He loves walks and running, so an active family who enjoys getting outside would be a great match for him.

Buster has done well with other dogs and could happily have a canine companion. New friendships should be introduced slowly and on neutral territory to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Buster needs an experienced owner who will provide him with consistent training. He is currently prong and e-collar trained and wi come with the tools and resources needed from Frontier Canine to help his new family continue his progress.

He’s a smart, fun-loving boy who knows what he likes and is continuing to learn every day. With the right family, Buster has so much love and adventure to give.

XOLO - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Xolo is an 11-month-old, 35 lb Carolina Dog with the sweetest soul and a heart full of love. His favourite things? Cuddles on the couch, leisurely walks, playing with dog friends, and napping right beside his people.

Gentle, affectionate, and friendly with other dogs, Xolo would make a wonderful family companion or the perfect best friend for someone looking for a little extra love in their life. He is house trained, crate trained and enjoys staring out the window on car rides.

He’d thrive in a home where people are around often, ideally with calm canine companions or as your one and only. He can be a little sensitive to loud noises and being left alone, but with love, patience, and reassurance, he has so much affection to give. He has not been cat tested.

Xolo isn’t asking for much - just a cozy spot beside you and someone to love him as much as he’ll love them.

MOOSE - URGENT FOSTER NEEDED🚨

Age: 4 years | Neutered | 68 lbs |

We are looking for a foster that has bully experience and willing to give him the time he needs to decompress. He has been in the kennels far too long - and showing signs of stress.
Moose is a beefcake of a short king, and he would very much like you to throw the ball.

Moose came in as a stray, skinny and with skin that told the story of a dog who’d been left outside too long. He’s filled out since then and looks like a different dog - solid, healthy, and well fed.

He’s easygoing and well mannered in his kennel, though he makes his excitement known when it’s time to go outside. He walks well on leash, just strong enough to pull a bit. He’s easy to handle, easy to work with, and has been friendly with every single person he’s met.

In off-leash play group Moose is lovely with other dogs — he’ll trot over to say hello and have a sniff, then happily go do his own thing. But what he really wants is fetch. He absolutely loves it, and he brings the ball back to you, which as anyone who’s worked in a shelter knows is not a given.

What he needs you to know:
• Moose has been here over two months with limited yard time, and he’d started barking himself hoarse. He’s on a low dose of anxiety medication to take the edge off kennel life — and notably, he’s never barked once in his kennel or the yard while working with staff. That’s a dog struggling with confinement, not a dog with a behaviour problem. He’s also started Benadryl and fish oil for skin allergies, and had his right ear cleaned and packed.

Two months is a long time for a dog this good. Moose is ready to go be somebody’s dog 🏡

COOKIE – AVAILABLE TO ADOPT

Cookie is a beautiful Lab mix, around 1 year old and 50 lbs. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, silly, and playful—and her adorable underbite gives her the cutest goofy grin! Her whole body seems to wag when she’s happy, and she truly wants to be everyone’s friend. ❤️

Cookie absolutely LOVES other dogs. Her favourite thing in the world is rough-and-tumble play, wrestling, chasing, and having a canine best friend. She would thrive with another large, playful dog—or multiple dogs—who can match her energy and enjoy her playful personality.

She would love a large yard, an active family committed to keeping her physically and mentally engaged, plenty of toys and playtime, and—most importantly—canine companionship!

Cookie has been living with children ages 3 and 6 and has been wonderful with them. She is gentle, affectionate, and does not jump up for attention. While she enjoys people, Cookie is truly a dog’s dog!

She loves tug toys (especially her durable Tuffy toys), being outside, and some fetch, but wrestling with another dog is her favourite! She is also a big chewer, so she needs plenty of appropriate toys. If bored, she may help herself to children’s toys or stuffies. 😅

5-Year-Old Husky x German Shepherd | 68 lbs

Boots is playful, full of personality, and loves being wherever her people are. She loves her stuffies, going for walks, enjoying tasty treats, and playing with her friends. She’s looking for an active home where she can get exercise, attention, and mental stimulation. A fenced backyard and a larger, energetic dog who enjoys rough-and-tumble play would be a huge bonus!

Boots sat unwanted in a shelter for over 2 years, so she is ready to get out and explore.

Boots is working on her basic commands, leash manners, and jumping when excited, so she’ll need a committed family willing to continue her training and help her build good habits. She can be reactive on walks and is a strong puller, so an experienced, attentive handler who can manage her around other dogs and distractions is important.

She is house-trained, crate-trained when left alone, and loves car rides. She would do best with a larger dog (30+ lbs) who enjoys energetic, rough play, though an only-dog home could also work if she gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. She may be suitable for a home with children aged 7 and up.

Boots is a smart, spirited girl who has so much to offer the right family. She’ll need someone who understands that a high-energy dog comes with responsibilities, but who also sees the fun, companionship, and love that come with it. If you’re looking for a big adventure buddy and are ready to help Boots continue learning, she could be your girl!

2-Year-Old Husky Mix | 50 lbs

Annie is back in the kennels, and she has now been waiting 2 years for her chance 🥹
She also needs some medical attention, and we can’t save her without a confirmed, committed foster.
Annie is dog friendly, but prefers her humans.

Annie is a beautiful, loving, affectionate girl who has been great with everyone she’s met. She adores people and is happiest when she’s getting attention, going for walks, relaxing outside, or hanging out with her favourite humans. She’s energetic and confident, and she loves being outdoors. She needs a home with the space for her to move, play and thrive.

Annie arrived with a previously broken front leg that healed improperly, a condition called a malunion. Her vet has confirmed it’s fully healed and that surgery wouldn’t correct it. She uses the leg well and has excellent energy.

Meet MOOSE & MAX — two amazing boys who desperately need a foster to give them a chance! ❤️

🐾 MOOSE | 4 years old | 68 lbs This handsome, stocky lovebug is friendly with everyone he meets, walks well on leash, and LOVES to play fetch! He’s also been lovely with other dogs in playgroups. After over two months in the shelter, kennel stress is taking its toll. Moose needs a bully-experienced foster who can give him time to decompress, feel safe, and finally enjoy life outside the kennels.

🐾 MAX | 1 year old | 60 lbs Max is an incredible young guy who’s house-trained, crate-trained, good with people and other dogs, and walks nicely on leash. He’s easygoing, happy to join in on whatever you’re doing, and content to settle when it’s time to relax. He’s still young and needs exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and a breed experienced foster who can help him thrive.

🙏 BOTH BOYS NEED FOSTERS BY TOMORROW! They deserve a chance to leave the shelter behind and experience the love, comfort, and security of a home.
