In Canada, we lose 15 people to poisoned drugs each day.

Our staff were proud to join Overdose Awareness Day events across our communities to remember those we've lost.

Connecting with so many of you, each taking your own steps to advocate for the resources we know save lives, made it all the more special.

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped to say hello, as well as Sanguen Health Centre and Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy for all the organising work that went into events this year.

And for those looking for a way to support, Jesse from Thrive HIV Prevention & Support is looking for community help to store the purple drug poisoning markers that help us remember those lost in our communities. This year's garden group harvest just keeps getting better!

Our garden group participants do everything from choosing the plants they grow at the beginning of the season, to weeding and watering, to harvesting! The best part: everything they grow is theirs to take home.

This past week, everyone got the chance to take some delicious broccoli, bell peppers, and of course, lots of tomatoes!

Across Canada, we lose 15 people to drug poisonings each day.

It’s part of why we encourage clients to connect with their primary workers for judgment-free support with substance use, and all of our sites are equipped with naloxone to treat overdose.

In the lead-up to Overdose Awareness Day, Sanguen Health Centre and Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy are hosting events across the communities we serve to remember those lost and fight for the care we know saves lives. We hope to see you there!
