It was with honour that members of our department were able to attend the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial today in Ottawa as our brother, Captain Dylan Thompson, was added to the wall.

It was a beautiful ceremony honoring all those lost in the line of duty.

Captain Dylan Thompson, your dedication and passion for the fire service lives on in the hearts of all our members

🚨 SCAM ALERT – FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚨

We’ve been made aware of a scam circulating where individuals are asking residents for money to have the fire department replace batteries in their smoke detectors.

Please be advised: The Fire Department will NEVER ask you for money to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. If someone messages you requesting payment for this service while claiming to represent the Fire Department, please do not provide them with money or personal information.

That being said, please make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working and that batteries are changed regularly. A working alarm can save your life and the lives of your family.

If you're unsure whether your alarms are functioning properly, contact your local Fire Department for guidance.
Stay safe, stay alert, and don't let a scammer put your home at risk. 🚒🔥
