We're excited to announce our upcoming exhibition, Love Letter to Skeleton Park, featuring work by Callia Silverton. Stay tuned for opening details—we hope you'll join us!

Callia Silverton works with acrylic and gouache paints to depict a wide array of subjects, including landscapes and portraits of people and animal friends. She uses bright colours and loose, expressive brushstrokes to deftly depict light and atmosphere. Her works
focus on themes of home and memory, and allow the viewer to step into the scene as if they were right there with her. Callia grew up in Toronto and studied fine arts at Sheridan College before completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of
Toronto and a Master of Science degree in anatomy from Queen's University. Her combined science and art background reflect a curiosity and connection to the world that is reflected in her artwork.

On Saturday, June 20 11am and Sunday, June 21 10am Birdbone Theatre will perform just north of the Skeleton Park Main Stage. They’ll be joined by Sistema Kingston for a special function on Saturday, June 20 at 11 AM—don’t miss it!

Birdbone Theatre: Bear's Garden
Bear’s Garden tells the tale of a clever Peasant who plants his fields in the Bear’s woods. Twice he tricks the Bear to reap harvest. The contending takes place in kitchens, where the Peasant is visited by Divine messengers, strange guests and enchanted animals who travel from wild places above and below to help dream up an old story. Drawing inspiration from Slovak illustrator Viera Bombova’s prints and paintings, Bear’s Garden will layer colourful paintings and handmade puppets with original and arranged song, music and foley soundscape. Early creation of the music took place as part of YGK Airwaves project at CFRC Queen’s Radio in Kingston last spring.

Birdbone Theatre makes puppet shows from scratch and plays them live for the young and the old. We strive to make puppet theatre that might become a house for beauty, for remembering old songs and stories, for wild imaginings and for laughter in hard times.

Bear’s Garden company is Aleksandra Bragoszewska, Alison Gowan and Ekaterina. We are very grateful to the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council, and to our project sponsors, Maitland Tower, CFRC Queen’s Radio and Rideau Lakes Public Library.

As a prelude to our Saturday performance of Bear's Garden, Birdbone Theatre is delighted to collaborate with students and staff from Sistema Kingston in Star Catchers. We are grateful to Kingston Rotary club for a generous grant which allowed us to create this new work with Sistema Kingtson students at St.Thomas More school.

Sistema Kingston is a tuition-free, intensive after-school music program for elementary school students that is dedicated to fostering positive social development through the pursuit of musical excellence. Students participate four days/week and explore the arts through singing, rhythm, and string instruments. We believe that music education is the foundation of every vibrant music community and our vision is that all children, regardless of background, have access to the benefits and joys that music can offer. Launched in 2015 and fully funded through grants and donations, Sistema Kingston is administratively housed at the Queen’s University Faculty of Education.

We’re excited to share that Wyatt C. Louis will take the Main Stage at Skeleton Park on Sunday, June 21 at 4 PM. This special performance is co-presented with LodgePole Arts Alliance.

About Wyatt C. Louis:
Walking the line between genres like an easy path rather than a tightrope, carried by textural and ethereal songs lifted up by stunning vocals, Wyatt C. Louis’ debut album Chandler refers to simply their middle name. Louis (they/he), a Plains Cree singer-songwriter born and raised in parts of Treaty Six, now lives in Moh’kinstsís (Blackfoot name for Calgary) and lets that amalgamation of place shine through on these tracks, some of which came to life in the quiet and contemplative days of deep pandemic lockdown. Out via Royal Mountain Records, Chandler is suffused with a soft comfort that glows with feelings of familiarity and ease. Louis found levity through collaboration. A new experience, the result is upbeat yet cozy, the kind of songs that show off Louis’ contradictions of paying homage to the country music ingrained in the geography of their childhood, with an indie and roots spin that makes it something different.

LodgePole Arts Alliance is an inclusive space, grounded in Eastern Woodland (Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe) cultural practices, knowledge and teachings, celebrations and showcases.

The Skeleton Park Arts Festival runs June 19 - 21, 2026 in McBurney Park, just north of downtown Kingston.
