QHO Guyana 2021-2022

Initiative Directors:
Ingrid Chen and Sydney Hutchinson

The Guyana Initiative was established in 1989 and is the longest-running initiative within QHO. We provide primary and secondary schools, community and youth groups with key health information that addresses the specific needs of the Guyanese. This initiative partners with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport to en

sure lessons are effective and relevant to the cultures in which we work. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we moved the Guyana Initiative online last year, and we are excited to continue growing our virtual QHO platform this year! We will be using this page to connect with our Guyana students and community members. If you wish to support us financially, you may either send us a cheque payable to Queen’s Health Outreach, or donate online through Canada Helps (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/queens-health-outreach/) and mention "Guyana Initiative". If you require a receipt for income tax purposes, please indicate this with your donation and provide your complete address. Queen’s Health Outreach

Our Story

QHO Guyana 2019-2020 Initiative Directors: Caitlin Neapole and Georgia Fraulin The Guyana Initiative was established in 1989 and is the longest-running initiative within QHO. Our Berbice Initiative: Peer Educators facilitate peer-to-peer health discussions in classrooms from grade 6 to form 4. The PEs work with community members and Headmasters at schools to ensure the PEs are delivering needs-based material to the students.
