Fat Goose Craft Collective

Fat Goose Craft Collective The Fat Goose Craft Collective is committed to creation of opportunities for craftspeople to exhibit/sell work and for the public to access handmade goods.

We use a not-for-profit model, are volunteer-driven, and are run by craftspeople for craftspeople. What is Fat Goose, you ask? Heading into its thirteenth season, Fat Goose is a much anticipated holiday institution on the Kingston public's calendar. It’s a really hip, volunteer, collectively-run, community-oriented Christmas fair devoted to providing successful opportunities for young and emerging

Kingston artisans to showcase and sell work. We place an emphasis on locally made work, unique and original ideas, high quality of product and depth of process, and strong diversity in craft disciplines.

✨🪿 Thank you, Fat Goose family! 🪿✨

Our 2025 show was an absolute honk-tastic success thanks to YOU — the wildly talented vendors, the tireless volunteers who keep everything running smoothly, and of course our wonderful guests who show up year after year to support handmade magic and help us raise money for charity.

Our hearts (and our tote bags) are full.
Until next year — stay crafty, stay cozy, and keep spreading the handmade love. 💛

Time to look forward to 2026, friends.

❗ A friendly honk-honk reminder: please don’t park on University Ave in front of Grant Hall — campus security might send the geese after you… or, you know, tow you. 😅

This SATURDAY ✨ Vanessa Villarreal — ceramic magic incoming! ✨

Vanessa works in handbuilt ceramics, shaping whimsical tableware and small-scale sculptures from slabs of clay. Her cups, tiles, wall boxes, and one-of-a-kind creations feel like objects from a storybook — filled with charm, imagination, and a touch of mysticism.
Based in Gatineau, QC, Vanessa splits her time between her home studio and a group studio in Ottawa. She has been working in clay for 25 years, and the love for the process is still going strong — and it shows in every piece.

Her mission?
To create ceramics that spark joy, inspire wonder, and bring a little magic to everyday routines — whether on your table, your wall, or gifted to someone you love.

🧹 Meet Makers: Besom — the broom legends of Prince Edward County

If you think a broom is just a broom… prepare to have your mind pleasantly swept.

Eve and Chris Harvey of Besom make hand-crafted brooms and brushes that are so gorgeous you’ll be tempted to clean just to show them off. They pair traditional broom-making with timeless design, using locally sourced wood from windfallen branches — meaning every broom has a good backstory and zero guilt.
These are not your big-box brooms.

These are “display in your entranceway because wow” brooms.
These are “if someone borrows it they’re never invited back” brooms.

🧹✨ Functional + beautiful + sustainable = the broom glow-up we didn’t know we needed.

📍 Meet Besom at Fat Goose Craft Fair
🗓️ This Saturday — November 29
🕙 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 Grant Hall, Queen’s University
💲 $2 entry — FREE from 2–4 PM

Come see Besom and treat yourself to a cleaning tool you’ll actually brag about. (We won’t judge. We support broom pride.) 🪄

This Saturday ✨ Meet Maker: Wildflower Threads — .flower_threads

We’re so excited to welcome Wildflower Threads to the Fat Goose Craft Fair!

Jade and her business partner create stunning hand-beaded adornments rooted in traditional practices, revitalization, and storytelling. Their beadwork is more than something beautiful — it’s a calm, grounding creative medicine that connects them to ancestors, aunties, elders, and future generations. Every piece carries history, teachings, and intention stitched bead by bead.
After long days, they unwind by putting on a show and letting creativity flow — transforming time, tradition, and love into wearable art.

This Saturday! ✨ We’re thrilled to welcome Stéphanie of to the Fat Goose Craft Fair!

Working from her Rosemont studio, Stéphanie creates sculptural and functional ceramics using porcelain, stoneware, gold, and specialty lusters. Whether wheel-thrown or handbuilt, her pieces carry a signature softness — gentle curves, feminine detail, and a touch of magical realism inspired by vintage style, fairy tales, and delicate forms. Every piece is signed by hand as a final gesture of care.

This year, Stéphanie is especially excited to be showing alongside fellow designer Noémiah — and together they’ll be debuting their brand-new hair barrette collaboration, created at the intersection of fashion and ceramics. ✨
