Education on Queer Issues Project (EQuIP)

Education on Queer Issues Project (EQuIP) EQuIP is the Education on Queer Issues Project. We work to create a positive space for all sexual and gender identities at Queen's University.

The Education on Queer Issues Project (EQuIP) is a student-run organization under the Social Issues Commission at Queen's University. Its purpose is to create a safe environment for individuals on Queen's campus and in Kingston of all sexual/romantic orientations and gender identities. EQuIP strives to create a fun, welcoming, and educational community for queer and queer-positive individuals whil

e advocating for human rights and raising awareness about queer-related issues. Through weekly, facilitated discussions and awesomely spectacular events, EQuIP has been a resource for empowering those who identify as Queer, Allies, or anything in between. The EQuIP drop-in space is located on Queen's Campus, in room 342 of the JDUC. We have a resource lending library (both fiction and non-fiction), magazines including subscriptions to the Advocate and Curve, subscriptions to Xtra!, and numerous informational pamphlets. If you are interested in volunteering or applying to be a committee member, contact [email protected]. Otherwise, everyone is welcome at all of our weekly discussion groups and events (with no sign-up necessary)! Queen's University sits on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee & Anishinaabe peoples.
