Fixed it ✒️ It's tough out there for workers right now! Companies and institutions are rolling back all kinds of hard earned worker benefits and protections in the name of profit (and not just south of the border! 🇨🇦). Headlines like these are a great reminder that without a strong collective agreement, what we've come to take for granted may be at risk.

Get Ready Steelworkers! This is a long but really important post! 💬

Through our job re-evaluation process, Support Staff can submit a claim via USW Re-Evaluation Request Form to their Manager outlining all significant changes that may have occurred to their position. This process allows members who have taken on new duties to receive the increased compensation they are owed for the increased complexity of work they perform. This process, governed by Appendix H in the Collective Agreement, is typically processed within thirty (30) calendar days and can not be stopped by a Manager for budgetary reasons.

Spread the word! 💬With the hiring freeze and ongoing restructuring, we know Steelworkers are taking on more work and you need to be compensated appropriately for additional duties or any changes to your position.

Our union reps are standing by to help YOU! Submit the Steelworker Intake Form to connect with a union rep who can help you submit your job re-evaluation request.
