A few weekends ago we came together to celebrate 40 years of Queen’s First Aid!

That weekend was such a special celebration of the legacy, impact, and community that makes QFA what it is. A huge thank you to our planning committee for all of the hard work that went into making this anniversary weekend possible.

We are so grateful to all of our special guests who joined us, including founders Ron Goldstein and the family of James McSherry, representatives from Queen’s University and Queen’s Security, St. John Ambulance, Frontenac Paramedics, and everyone who came out to celebrate, from current members to alumni.

Thank you for sharing your stories, memories, and love for this team. Here’s to 40 years of service, leadership, and community, and to many more to come!

On March 20th, seven members of our team attended the National Conference of Campus Emergency Responders (NCCER) hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University. We are proud to announce out of 27 teams competing, Queen’s University placed top 18 with our Advanced Medical Responder (AMFR) training, working alongside those who had Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training throughout the weekend.

The conference allowed us to build on emergency response skills as a team, attend various workshops, guest lectures, and presentations, all who inspired us. Our two teams had a wonderful time representing Queen’s University on the national stage, and learned many skills from our fellow responders at other universities.

We sincerely thank ACERT for this oppourtunity, and look forward to attending in the future!

There’s still time to apply to become a Queen’s First Aid Responder, applications close at 11:59PM tonight. We encourage everyone who’s interested and who holds a current Standard First Aid with CPR-C & AED certification to apply regardless of previous experience!
