Dear 2SLGBTQ+ newcomers to our city who have been asking who these guys are — let us gaysplain no tea no shade. They’re an iconic , Canadian rock band called The Sickening Hot Mess and they were all born in Kingston. They’re like a str8 Fab 5 without the diversity but still can look dusted (Gord’s outfits could gag Q***r Eye, and Rob’s hair could make Jonathan VanNess weep.) Their song Bobcaygeon may or may not be a love story about 2 gay cops but whether it’s true or not, once you’ve heard that, it’s all you’ll think about. Our city is throwing a KIKI August 20-22, 2026 marking the 10th anniversary of their final tour with Gord Downie (as in the pier) and it’s going to be fierce boots okurrrrrr. When Megan's (Natasha Lyonne) parents decide she's gay and ship her off to True Directions, a boot camp meant to straighten her out, she's stunned. That is, until she meets the rebellious, unapologetic Graham (Clea DuVall) and starts questioning everything.

We were so sad to cancel the Movies in the Square Pride Month screening of But I'm a Cheerleader, but we're thrilled to announce it's back on for Wednesday, July 22nd!

Join us in Springer Market Square for this gut-busting satirical rom-com packed with colour, chaos and non-stop laughs, all while delivering a powerful message of self-acceptance and the joy of q***r identity.
