Looking for an activity to sign your child up for this fall? We have limited spaces on our FIRST LEGO League Challenge team remaining! Building. Problem solving. Growing stronger through teamwork. Join us and learn how to engineer a thriving planet with FIRST® CANOPY and the LEGO League BIOGLOW season.

Teams of students ages 9-14* begin to explore hands-on applications of engineering design as they explore a real-world research project relevant to this year's theme, learn to design, and code and create unique solutions made with LEGO technic and powered by LEGO® Spike Prime.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge with W.A.F.F.L.E.S. Community Robotics is being offered for the 2026-2027 season on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:00pm. We will have two developmental teams participate in these sessions.

Participants will be provided all materials required for the season. Sessions begin September 8th and conclude with a Tournament event in late November or early December. Meetings will be led by Taegen Poles.

Note: A competitive team will participate in at least four sessions per week for two hours each with additional work to be completed at home. This competitive level team is by invitation, application and try-out only. If you would like information, please reach out separately to [email protected].

* Minimum age 9 - Enforced as of September 1, 2026.
* Maximum age 14 - Enforced as of September 1, 2026.

Registration is $450. Registration includes:
* 12 classes
* W.A.F.F.L.E.S. t-shirt
* Celebration event

Back in November I (Kate) was contacted by Swab The World - Swab The World is a non-profit organisation dedicated to increasing the diversity of the global stem cell and bone marrow registry to share Leo’s Story.

This was done mainly in Canada and Leo appeared on advertising boards across the underground system (The Metro) in Canada.

Following on from this I was contacted by W.A.F.F.L.E.S. who have a high school STEM program in Kingston, Ontario that participates in a robotics competition. Every year they play on the word STEM and use the opportunity to name their robot after a patient in need to highlight their story and spread the word.

So I would love to introduce to you the WAFFLES 2026 Robot - Leo 🤖🦾🦿

The title says it all - we are having an open house! Come check out our new location at 575 Victoria Street at 2PM on Saturday and get to meet our FRC team. We are always looking for new members and what better time to join than just before the start of build season. Everyone is welcome!

Weren't able to make it to the Kingston FLL tournament this weekend? The great news is we have a recap video that you can watch to relive the excitement.

A special shoutout to our three FLL Challenge teams and two FLL Explore teams - 105, 37641, and 71043 (Challenge) & 1 and 34005 (Explore) for a great tournament! 105 was also the recipient of the Robot Design Award and will be going on to represent W.A.F.F.L.E.S. at the FLL Challenge Ontario Provincial Championships in January! 🙌
