1000 Cranes Project : Folding for HOPE

1000 Cranes Project : Folding for HOPE Paper crane is a symbol of peace, love, hope and healing. Let's spread these cranes far and wide!

By spreading these cranes far and wide, we extend the message of peace, love, hope, and healing to diverse communities and individuals. Each crane crafted and shared becomes a small but meaningful gesture, contributing to a collective expression of goodwill and a shared vision for a world filled with positivity and compassion. So, let's fold and share these paper cranes, fostering a ripple effect of inspiration and connection that transcends boundaries and uplifts the human spirit.

As part of our “Call for Peace” initiative, we had the opportunity to share and distribute approximately 300 origami cranes during the Princess Promenade in downtown Kingston.
In addition to giving away cranes as symbols of peace and hope, we also had an origami folding session that welcomed both children and adults. It was a day filled with fun, creativity, and meaningful interaction.
We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by, participated, and helped us continue spreading the message of peace—one crane at a time.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a Peace Display Table has been set up in the waiting area at Kingston Toyota from August 1 to 8, 2025.

The display features folded paper cranes—symbols of peace and hope—and "A Message of Peace" from the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

If you're in the area, we warmly invite you to stop by, reflect, and take a moment for peace.

Join us at the waterfront for a meaningful and family-friendly community gathering.
Take part in lantern-making, crane-folding, live music, and light refreshments as we come together to reflect on the past and share a vision of peace and hope for the future.
A silent procession through downtown, led by ceremonial drummers (Japanese Taiko drummers), will offer a space to quietly remember those affected by the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Lanterns, paper cranes, and peace banners will be available as gentle symbols of remembrance and unity.

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while—hope you’re all doing well. I’d like to thank you once again for helping make our 1st and 2nd projects a success!

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. For our 3rd project, we’ve folded a little over 1,000 origami cranes (folded by volunteers for the 2nd project). Instead of focusing on a single project, we’re hoping to spread love, hope, and peace by distributing these cranes at various Hiroshima Day commemorations. (August 6 and 9, 1045)

I’ll be posting the schedule and locations of these events soon. If you happen to be in the area, please feel free to stop by and help fold some cranes for distribution.
