Alexander Murray Hiking Trail 📍 Hiking Trail in King’s Point, NL

The Alexander Murray Hiking Trail in King's Point NL is becoming one of Central Newfoundland's bigger attractions. Do the whole trail, or take in a portion.

- 2200 man made stairs
- 3 water falls
- 1100 ft Summit
- 3 to 4 hours
- Moderate to difficult
- Visitor centre (Open June-End of August, cash only)

There is no fee to hike the trail but donations at the visitor centre for trail upkeep are very much appreciated. Hikers are asked to sign in before starting out on the trail. The trail entrance lies just inside the town of King's Point (pop.600), which is 12kms off the Trans Canada Highway. King's Point is a pretty town that offers visitors several accommodation options, several dining options, gas, RV parking, convenience grocery shopping and in-store ATMs. To round out your visit, there is a pottery shop, whale pavillion, public picnic and rest areas, and a heritage house museum. As a bonus, there is a 800ft waterfalls nearby. Come to King's Point, stay a while and get some amazing fresh air and great selfie shots at the top of the Alexander Murray Hiking Trail.

Join us Saturday, October 17th, at 6:30pm at the Alexander Murray Hiking Trail grounds for our End of Season Celebration! We’ll have live music from Connor Cash Elliot, Christian Howse, Demetri Fudge, and Clint Newbury, along with canteen service, drinks, and a whole lot of fun!

Admission is FREE, this event will be 19+ and have bar service, and don’t forget to wear your plaid because it’s a shacket party!

Come help us celebrate a great season, enjoy some good food, drinks, and music, and stick around for a special regional surprise!

The event will take place on August 1st, 2026 at 2:00pm at the Alexander Murray Hiking Trail Grounds

Ticket sales start on Wednesday, July 1st and are on a first come first serve basis. Tickets can be purchased for $15.00 at the Alexander Murray Hiking Trail shop or if you cannot purchase in person, you can request tickets via email to [email protected]

Please note that emailing does not guarantee a ticket, please do not send money until a response instructs you to do so.
