🤩Kimberely Skating Club announces our new coaching team! We’re excited to offer Pre-CanSkate, Can Skate and STARSkate programs this season.

Leading the team is Kelsey Paterson, combining extensive coaching expertise with a heartfelt commitment to KSC, she inspires and supports skaters at every level. Club coach Colin brings strong technical experience with 8+ years in pairs dance and Star 10 Freeskate. We’re thrilled to welcome Abby, a former competitor and Registered Physiotherapist, and Sydney, a longtime KSC skater whose commitment to the sport makes her a wonderful addition to our coaching team.

The Kimberley Skating Club (KSC) is excited to announce that we are looking for a Skate Coach for the 2026/2027 skating season and beyond! This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and growing club in the vibrant mountain community of Kimberley.
🎯 Position Details:
Position: Skate Coach
Season: September 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027
Location: Kimberley, BC
💰 Compensation:
Professional autonomy to negotiate your own hourly rate ($25 to $60/hour) based on experience and coaching certifications.
Professional development support—annual training of your choice funded within the club budget.
🏅 Key Responsibilities:
Attend all scheduled sessions for StarSkate, Rising Stars, and CanSkate.
Coach StarSkaters across all disciplines.
Plan and coordinate the Rising Stars program, focusing on agility, balance, and control.
Work alongside other coaches on StarSkate programs and group classes.
Support new coaches in their professional development.
Assist the head coach in planning and executing our annual ice show (additional compensation available).
Collaborate effectively with parents and skaters to help them achieve their individual goals.
📜 Qualifications:
Skate Canada Certified Regional Coach (or higher) in good standing.
Experience in coaching and program development preferred but not required.
PowerSkate Certification is an asset.
Strong organizational and communication skills.

🌟 Exciting News at the Civic Centre! 🌟

The Kimberley Skating Club is deeply grateful to the Kimberley Minor Hockey Association (KMHA) and the OK Tire Community Contest for providing brand-new water bottle fill stations and drinking fountains at the Civic Centre! 💧 Our skaters and the entire community can now enjoy easy access to fresh hydration thanks to this fantastic initiative.

🏆 We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Eagle Plumbing for generously donating their time and expertise for the installation of these stations. 🦅 Additionally, thank you to Emco Corporation and Elkay for their contribution of one of the water fountains!

The addition of accessible, clean water at the rink is a win for all, and we are proud to benefit from this generous community effort.
No more filling bottles in bathroom sinks—just fresh, convenient hydration for everyone! 💧❤️
