NorthStar Rails to Trails

NorthStar Rails to Trails 26 km paved trail from Cranbrook to Kimberley. Walk, bike, run, roller blade or even ski from one city to the other or do short segments.

This beautiful trail was once a CPR right away from Cranbrook to Kimberley. Now a 26 km smooth paved trail utilized by many for cycling, running, walking and roller blading. (no motorized vehicles allowed). Officially part of the Trans Canada trail network in June 2012. rnment of Canada. The trail can be accessed at number of points
- Cranbrook just off Theatre Road and Industrial Road F (minimal parking)
- main trail head (good parking) behind Aasland Taxidermy (Hwy 95A)
- Echo Field Road and Hwy 95A (minimal parking)
- Wycliffe Park Road (parking, out house) off Hwy 95A
- Wycliffe Park Road (some parking) off Hwy 95 at Forties Corner
- Wycliffe Flats, trail runs parallel to the highway, several areas to park
- Hwy 95A upon entering Marysville where trail crosses the highway

🚧 Reminder: Trail Closure Starts August 6 🚧

A short section of the NorthStar Rails to Trails will be closed starting Wednesday, August 6 for important slope safety work. This joint project between the City of Cranbrook and the is expected to take 2–3 weeks to complete.

Loose rocks above the trail will be removed to help prevent future rockfalls and keep everyone safe. A signed detour will be in place—please follow the signs and stay out of the closed area for your safety.

A short section of the NorthStar Rails to Trails will be closed starting Wednesday, August 6 for important slope safety work. The project is expected to take 2 - 3 weeks to complete.

This joint project between the City of Cranbrook and the will remove loose rocks from the slope above this section of trail to help prevent future rockfalls and keep trail users safe.

To protect the public, part of the trail will be closed during construction. A signed detour will be in place to help minimize any disruption for both commuters and recreational users.

We ask everyone to follow detour signs and stay out of the closed area. The work zone will not be safe during construction.
