A great opportunity for anyone living in Brandon or close by!

🌿 We’re Hiring!
Food Rescue Grow-cer Associate
(yes we know how to spell grocer)

Full-Time | Starting at $18/hour | Brandon, MB
Accepting applications till May 30th

We’re growing… literally 🌱

The Food Rescue Grocery Store is looking for a hands-on, motivated, community-minded person to join our team in a brand-new role that blends hydroponic growing, food rescue driving, and in-store support.
This isn’t a “clock in, do one thing, clock out” kind of job.
It’s a roll-up-your-sleeves, jump-in-where-needed, build-something-meaningful kind of job.

🌱 What You’ll Be Doing

Growing Fresh Produce in Our Hydroponic Growcer Unit
You’ll oversee caring for and growing herbs in our hydroponic grocer unit.

Don’t worry — we’ll train you on our system. What we really need is someone who:
• Is genuinely interested in horticulture
• Enjoys plant care and learning how things grow
• Pays attention to detail
• Takes pride in producing high-quality food.

Education or experience in horticulture is a bonus — but curiosity and commitment matter more.

đźšš Food Rescue Pickups & Deliveries

You’ll also help rescue food and move it where it needs to go.
That means:
• Picking up food from partners
• Loading and unloading products
• Representing our store professionally in the community

đź›’ In-Store Support

When needed, you’ll jump in to:
• Help with cashier duties
• Support customers
• Stock shelves
• Keep things clean and flowing smoothly
We’re a team — we all jump in where needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Customer service experience 2-3 years
• Professional driving experience is an asset
• Education in horticulture is preferred
• The ability to lift min 50LB repeatedly

🌟 Who You Are
• You care about community and food security
• You’re enthusiastic and self-motivated
• You take initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
• You’re calm when plans change (because they will)
• You’re okay working “on the fly”
• You want more than just a job — you want to build something

Food rescue work isn’t predictable. Some days are carefully planned. Some days we pivot completely because a truckload shows up unexpectedly. Flexibility isn’t optional — it’s part of the mission.

đź’š Why This Role is Special

This is a new position. It will grow.
The right person could grow with it.
There is real potential here for leadership, program development, and long-term career building within our organization.
If you want to be part of something meaningful, hands-on, and community-driven — this might be your place.
Interested?
Send us your resume @ [email protected] and tell us why this role excites you. We’d love to hear from you.
