Happy National Vitamin C Day!

One common food bank misconception is that they only give out non-perishable foods like canned soup and peanut butter. We're not trying to knock any canned products (we love them!), but rather to show that we distribute both perishable and non-perishable foods to member agencies across the province.

This includes items like fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, breads, various protein sources, frozen food, and of course, canned soups. When people access food support at a food bank within Feed Nova Scotia's member network, this means they're getting a selection of main meal components that are both perishable and non-perishable.

So, the next time you're thinking about supporting your local food bank, we suggest you inquire about what they need most at this moment in time - it might surprise you!
