Kemptville Winter Trail

Kemptville Winter Trail Cross country ski club, grooming free-access multi-use winter trails in Ferguson Forest Centre Kemptville Winter Trail (KeWi) is:

1. A Nordic ski club.

A physical trail groomed in winter (snow permitting) for public use.
2. Club membership supports operation of our winter trail, supports us as a Cross Country Ski Ontario-sanctioned nordic ski club, supports the sport at the local, provincial and national level through Nordiq Canada, and offers members the benefit of access to the club’s ski equipment. Because we believe strongly in the benefits o

f getting kids on skis, and in giving back to our community, our equipment is available free of charge to local schools on weekdays. But beyond that, our equipment is restricted to club members’ use. The bulk of our equipment is sized for children and youth, and offers club members a great way to introduce their children to Nordic skiing, as well as providing a great alternative to constantly replacing equipment for growing kids! We have far less adult-sized equipment, and it is suited for allowing adults to try the sport, and helping them to gauge their interest and level of commitment to it, before outfitting themselves with their own equipment, rather than as an alternative to getting outfitted. It is available to our adult club members to help them get up and running, but they will be far more comfortable and progress much better with their own equipment geared specifically to them and their needs. To become a member go to https://zone4.ca/register/, search for Kemptville Winter Trail’s registration form, and complete it online. All memberships are individual, and cover one adult (18+) and any children (17 & under) they may have. We have an ongoing need for board members to help govern and develop our organization, and for club volunteers to help with our ski lending program, special events, trail grooming and other member benefits such as social ski outings and lessons. If you would like to help us function and grow, please join us as a registered club member, and send an email to [email protected] telling us how you can help!

Note from Noel:
Just groomed the trails and was able to lay classic tracks.
In pretty good shape considering the snow we have.🥳

❄️ We hope you’re all enjoying the holiday season! And yes… we know you’d be enjoying it even more if the trail was open. 😉

Winter arrived early and we’ve already been able to roll the trail base twice. But so far there just hasn’t been enough snow to set classic tracks — and based on the past five seasons, it’s actually pretty rare for conditions to be reliable before mid- to late-January. So we’re staying patient… and keeping our fingers crossed for a skiable trail soon! 🤞

In the meantime, club registration is now open. If you love having the Kemptville Winter Trail in our community, becoming a member is the best way to show your support:

You can also add a donation during registration — or, if you prefer, e-transfer directly to:

Every membership and every donation helps keep the trail groomed, maintained, and accessible for everyone. Thanks so much for being part of the KeWi community! ⛷️

❄️ We’re Getting Ready for Winter! ❄️

You may have noticed that things have been a bit quiet so far this season. Behind every great winter trail is a small group of dedicated volunteers—and ours is currently in a transition phase.

As our founding admin steps back this year, roles are changing hands, and the key pieces (membership registration, social media, and season setup) are actively being put in place.

We can’t wait to welcome you back this season, so stay tuned—updates on membership and opening dates are coming soon. We’re excited for another great season ahead!

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and your love of winter recreation in our community. The club & the trail exist because of you.

And if you’ve ever thought about helping behind the scenes, this is a great time to reach out. Many hands make great trails! ❄️
