We are 1.2 million neighbours, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. Our differing occupations, cultures, and countries give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT? Our distinct point of view and approach gives us unique advantages:

We

see differently: Our multidisciplinary perspective helps us see challenges in unique ways. We think differently: We apply leadership and expertise to social issues—and find unique solutions. We act responsibly: Our passion and perseverance create lasting change. We make a difference at home and around the world: Our members can be found in your community and across the globe. HOW DO WE WORK? Our impact starts with our members—people who work tirelessly with their clubs to solve some of our communities' toughest challenges. Their efforts are supported by Rotary International, our member association, and The Rotary Foundation, which turns generous donations into grants that fund the work of our members and partners around the world. Rotary is led by our members—responsible leaders who help to carry forward our organization's mission and values in their elected roles. Explore our structure

HOW DID WE GET HERE? We've been making history and bringing our world closer together for over 100 years. Since forming in 1905, we've taken on some of the world's toughest challenges and helped a wide range of international and service organizations—from the UN to Easter Seals—get started. HOW DO WE USE OUR FUNDS? Responsible leadership means more than just doing good work—it means making the most out of every donation we receive. See how we maximize our impact

WHAT CAUSES DO WE SUPPORT? We have identified specific causes to target to maximize our local and global impact. At the same time, we understand that each community has its own unique needs and concerns. Through our network of resources and partners, we help clubs focus their service efforts in promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.

Next week marks one of the most special milestones in our Rotary year—our annual Handover Meeting. It’s a time of deep gratitude as we celebrate the incredible impact of our outgoing President, Brian Hillaby, and look forward with excitement as we welcome our incoming Co-Presidents, Trish McLeod and Anne Brunton.

Over the past year, Brian’s leadership has guided us through amazing community projects, fundraisers, and meaningful connections here in Kelowna.
It has been an absolute honor to serve as President this past year," says Brian Hillaby. "I am incredibly proud of what our club has accomplished together to support local and international initiatives. Our members' dedication reminds me daily of what 'Service Above Self' truly means. I know the club is in fantastic hands moving forward."

As we turn the page to a new chapter, we are thrilled to introduce a dynamic duo taking the helm.

Anne and I are excited to build on the wonderful foundation Brian and past leaders have laid," says incoming Co-President Trish McLeod. "We’re focusing this year on deepening our community roots and finding fresh, impactful ways to give back to Kelowna."

Co-President Anne Brunton adds, "Rotary is all about community and collaboration. Trish and I are ready to bring our shared energy to the club, welcome new faces, and keep making a tangible difference. We can't wait to get started.

Whether you’re a long-time member, a past Rotarian, or someone curious about how Rotary impacts Kelowna, we would love for you to join us for this celebration on Thursday, June 25th at 4:30 PM at Kelowna Springs Golf Club

Want to attend? Please email [email protected] to secure your spot.

Let’s raise a glass to Brian for an outstanding year and give Trish and Anne a warm Ogopogo welcome! 🥂

The Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo is very happy with our Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) team for their amazing work during the 2025–2026 tax season. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, many people in our community received the help they needed to file their tax returns. In fact, in the tax year 2025-2026 we filed over 180 returns.

If you or someone you know has a modest income, a simple tax situation, and needs assistance getting up to date on tax filings, we are here to help, email: [email protected]

Our tax clinics rely on the power of amazing volunteers. If you’d like to give back to the Kelowna community and help support our future clinics, we’d love to have you on board. email: [email protected]

Today, Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo held our meeting at the Kelowna Paddle Club on Abbot St. We received a wonderful tour of the facility and their exciting plans for the building upgrade project from board member Dennis Silverstorny.

We were honored to present our final $5,000 donation, bringing our total commitment to the Kelowna Paddle Club's building upgrade project to $15,000. This support will help them continue their valuable work in the community, which includes hosting over 1,370 student paddlers, running summer camps that will host nearly 1,000 kids, and piloting a program with CRIS to provide paddling for those with disabilities.

The club is aiming to start construction on their $1.5 million project, which includes renovating the existing house and erecting a new building with facilities (including washrooms), once the remaining fundraising dollars are secured.

We look forward to seeing the new facility.

We are thrilled to announce that the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo is once again sponsoring the incredible young athletes of the City of Kelowna team as they head off to the 2026 International Children's Summer Games in Taiwan.

This week, we had the honor of presenting the team with their official tournament t-shirts, proudly featuring the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo logo.
Our club has a long, proud history of backing these amazing youth. Just last year, we cheered them on as they competed in Tallinn, Estonia and we can’t wait to see them shine on the world stage again this year.
The official t-shirt presentation was a wonderful community moment. Our very own Rotary Club President, Brian Hillaby, joined Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas to hand over the gear and wish the athletes well.
"Supporting our city's youth as they represent Kelowna globally is at the very heart of what we do," says President Brian Hillaby. "Seeing the pride on these kids' faces when they put on their shirts is incredible. We’ve sponsored this team for many years because we believe in the power of sport to unite, inspire, and build the leaders of tomorrow. Best of luck in Taiwan, team."

Bring home some great memories, team Kelowna!
