With the City of Kelowna looking at its first-ever 10-figure budget and a 4.47% tax increase (Kelowna Capital News), many people are asking the same thing…

Does this mean our 2025 assessed values will go up?

Assessments are based on market value as of July 1st, and overall prices were down in 2025. So it will be interesting to see what BC Assessment does this year.

My guess?

We may see flat or slightly lower assessed values in many areas, depending on neighbourhood and property type. But nothing is guaranteed until the notices come out on January 1, 2026.
