Our Story
UBCO Asian Student Association is a non-profit student organization that strives to promote ethnic and cultural awareness in appreciation of the diversity that exists within UBC Okanagan and the surrounding community. ASA is one of the largest clubs at the University starting with just 10 members in 2007, to now over 500 active members. The objective is to engage with the student body in the University. ASA is committed to enhancing the students’ university life to be more fun and exciting with a variety of events. Events are open to all students throughout the year such as ASA haunted house, Chinese New Year Festival, Sports Tournaments, UBCO's Got talent and so many more! ASA also hosts holiday dinners like Thanksgiving; to make students feel welcome and provide them the opportunity to make new friends. As a way to give back to the community, ASA also hosts an annual fundraiser called “Festival of a Thousand Cranes” to raise money and awareness for designated charity at the end of each year. With the membership card, students receive discounts to our sponsored restaurants from all over Kelowna. We encourage all students to join our team or become a member for an unforgettable university experience! Remember to like us on our page or you can email us at [email protected] if you have any questions :)
