We had an incredible time with Howard Staples, consultant with Compass Cohousing, as he discussed cohousing development with us in our Monthly Coordination Meeting. He is a wealth of knowledge and we thank him for helping us move forward!

UPCOMING COHOUSING EVENT:

Join us Thursday March 9th, 7-8pm (PT) via ZOOM (link below) with our guest presenter, Howard Staples, Consultant in Cohousing & Community Design.

From his experience working with Windsong and now currently, Compass Cohousing, Howard is going to give a short presentation on what goes into launching a cohousing/Ecovillage community, and will leave most of the time to answer those burning questions about cohousing development, like:

• How to build a core group of committed members - what works? how do connect with the broader community & maintain consistent membership?
• What are key tasks in the early stages?
• What kind of financial, legal and time commitments are needed in the early stages to really get things going?
• When and how should we hire consultants and professionals?

This is a great opportunity for us to get guidance from an experience cohousing professional to help us on our way through these early stages & development.

This Thursday, October 13th 7-8PM via Zoom, we are hosing our Monthly Coordination Meeting on the topic of building a budget for a feasible cohousing project. We will go over the typical development process, then brainstorm altogether what possible costs may incur from now, through construction, to move-in, followed by a short Excel tutorial in formatting a real budget.
