Hi! My name is Amelie Bandalo and I’m happily sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of the Central Okanagan. I’m heading into 12th grade at Kelowna Secondary School, and after I have graduated my plan is to attend the University of British Columbia and start with general sciences, as well as pursuing creative writing. In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, going on walks and playing soccer with the team I’ve been with for years and where I have made some of my best friends. I joined Lady of the Lake to broaden my social circle and get better at public speaking, something I’ve always wanted to improve. I didn’t expect this program to take over my life in such an amazing way, because now I’ve felt my confidence grow, gotten volunteer opportunities that have brought a smile to my face and have been taught plenty of new skills. I have also met all my wonderful fellow candidates who I hope to stay in touch with after the program ends because they are such wonderful ladies that I may never have gotten the pleasure to meet otherwise. I would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of the Central Okanagan profusely for sponsoring me throughout my wonderful experience with Lady of the Lake, but most of all my wonderful sponsor liaison Clarence Jhonson for not only everything he has done for me, but also for the entire society during my time here. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience that I will never forget.

Good evening everyone! My name is Eden Olson, and I’m happily spowder by FH&P Lawyers LLP. I just finished grade 11 at KCS and this fall I’m excited to enter my last year at Kelowna Christian School for grade 12. In my free time I love baking, especially all things sourdough, and during the winter I love to ski. After graduation I hope to attend the University of Calgary, and pursue a law degree after that. As I’d love to be a lawyer and as a long term goal become a judge. When I first joined the lady of the Lake program, one thing I wanted to take away from it was to be more confident in my speaking skills. But I gained so much more, I built connections, volunteered in my community more, I got to meet these amazing young women, and I’m more confident speaking with people and being out of my comfort zone. I would like to thank my ponder FH&P Lawyers LLP and my sponsor liaison Rene Watson, the Lady of the Lake society, and my wonderful fellow candidates for making this such a lovely experience. Thank You!

Hello everyone! My name is Isabelle Frank and I am proud to be sponsored by Claremar Delivery Services. I have recently graduated from Rutland Senior Secondary School as well as graduated from Okanagan College with my Education Assistant Certification. In the fall I am planning on pursuing a Bachelors of Arts studying English and Psychology before I pursue further education to either become a teacher or a lawyer. In my free time I enjoy crochet, diamond painting, as well as traditional painting while watching all of my favorite nerdy tv shows and rom-coms. I currently am a co-owner of a small business with myself and my best friend. We make crochet plushies and sell them at local markets such as the Rutland Flea Market. This past year I have really thrived in my artistry by even making my own clothing from it. I am also a retired competitive dancer, even though I have stopped competing I still continue to dance whether it be on stage or K-pop in the bathroom. I even had the opportunity this past year to be a part of my schools Company Dance class where I learnt so much about teamwork and what really matters to me. I joined the Lady of the Lake program to help me in developing my social skills and meeting new people. Through this program I have been able to do just that. I have met people who I will share experiences with for a lifetime, built connections both personally and professionally, and become a more confident version of me. I would like to thank my sponsor Claremar Delivery Service as well as my sponsor liaison Clarence Johnson for allowing me to become a part of this program, supporting me through it, and for giving me opportunities I would not have had without them. I would also like to thank the Lady of the Lake society, my fellow candidates, and everyone who has gone out of their way to come to my events and support me. Thank you!

My name is Isabelle Kozoway, and I’m very proud to be sponsored by Village Flowers. I recently graduated from Kelowna Secondary School and I’m looking forward to continuing studies next year. I plan to attend UBCO for a Bachelor of Arts in English, and then to pursue teaching afterwards. I also hope to further pursue acting in film, and eventually be on the big screen!

In my spare time, I love to bake, listen to music, hangout with friends and play around with my dog. I also love to visit new places and hope to travel all over the world someday.

My favourite part of the Lady of The Lake Program is definitely all the wonderful and talented women I’ve met throughout candidacy. I also have really enjoyed all the opportunities we have been given to be involved in the community.

Hi, My name is Jocelyn Lyons and I am proud to be sponsored by the Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club. I am 17 years old, and recently graduated from the French immersion program at Kelowna Secondary School. In the fall, I will be taking a gap year to work, travel, and continue studying music before going to university to double major in music and history. I then hope to get my degree in education from UBC to become a teacher. In my free time I enjoying singing, playing any instrument I can get my hands on, spending time with family, and travelling. I joined Lady of the Lake to push myself out of my comfort zone, improve my public speaking, and to be more involved in the Kelowna community. I am lucky enough to have gained all of that, as well as confidence in myself, amazing volunteer experiences, and wonderful friendships that im truly grateful for. I’d like to give a big thank you to my sponsor, the Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club, my sponsor liaison Erika Jarvis, and to all the amazing Rotarians who continuously show up to events to cheer me on! I’m extremely grateful to every single one of you for supporting me throughout my candidacy. I couldn’t have done it without you!

Good evening, my name is Elise Faulkner. I would like to sincerely thank my sponsor, Aura Wealth Management, and my sponsor liaison, Stephen Mazer, for his generous support and encouragement throughout this program. I am truly grateful for the opportunity it has given me. I enjoy reading, learning about social justice, business and marketing, playing chess, and staying active through fitness. I’m also proud to serve as the President of UNESCO KSS club, where I’ve had the opportunity to advocate for youth leadership and global citizenship.
After high school, I plan to attend a university on Canada’s East Coast to study marketing with a minor in psychology. I hope to combine these fields to better understand people and create meaningful impact through business. My favorite part of the Lady of the Lake program has been the opportunity to help amplify young voices and represent the perspectives of youth in our community. This experience has strengthened my confidence, leadership, and appreciation for the importance of community involvement. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey.

Good evening everyone, my name is Arianna Privé and I am happily sponsored by the Okanagan Irish Society. I am currently a student at Okanagan Mission Secondary as I will be entering grade 11 in September. Once I graduate, I hope to attend UBC where I can complete a bachelor’s degree in psychology and continue my schooling to become a Forensic Psychologist.
Currently, I am very involved with the cadet program as I have been with it for the past 7 years, as I volunteer with the Navy League on a weekly basis while being a Sea Cadet myself. In my free time I enjoy writing, biking, and pretty much anything to do with the water.
I joined the Lady of the Lake program because I wanted to work on my public speaking skills and learn more about Kelowna as a way to feel more connected to my community. I want to say a big thank you to my sponsor, the Okanagan Irish Society, my sponsor liaison, Vincent Sherry, and all of the Lady of the Lake Society members as they are the ones who make this amazing experience possible.
