We are thrilled to welcome Liam Caines as a guest dance artist for upcoming production of Giselle! ✨
A former Second Soloist with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Liam is known for his powerful and charismatic presence. Over 16 seasons with RWB, he danced iconic roles such as Hilarion in Giselle, Drosselmeier in Nutcracker, and Captain Hook in Peter Pan. He’s performed internationally and worked with world-renowned choreographers including James Kudelka, partnering ballet legend Evelyn Hart in Vespers.
Now based in New Brunswick as a teacher and choreographer, Liam continues to inspire both on and off the stage—and we are thrilled to have him join us.

She was the recipient of the “Teen Honour in the Arts Award” for the Kelowna Civic & Community Awards in 2018. She then graduated from MDC’s Pre-Professional Program in 2019 and continued her career in Toronto, Canada in 2020 where she trained under Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s former Prima Ballerina Evelyn Hart. Annette then moved to Montreal where she continues her training at l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec for the 2022/2023 year in the SUPÉRIEUR program, performing in works such as “La Bayadere” directed by José Manuel Carreño, and Edgar Zendejas’s “Tu pours, en paid, dans men bras dormir”. A fun personal fact about Annette is she’s a big Star Wars fan and has a pet leopard gecko named Gobi!

Laika Wintemute was previously based in Montreal Quebec, Canada and now calls Kelowna home. Originally from Prince George in Northern British Columbia, she started dancing at 3 years old. At 14 she left home to train in Vancouver with Tania Brossoit and Stephana Arnold. While in Vancouver, she completed all of her ISTD ballet and modern exams, as well as RAD exams, including Solo Seal. Laika has been very fortunate to train in Madrid at the Art Of summer intensive and in Copenhagen with the Royal Danish Ballet. Some of her favourite memories include competing at the Youth American Grand Prix and other international competitions, as well as performing at numerous events. Following this Laika moved to Montreal to study at L’école Supérieure de Ballet where she graduated with a diploma in Classical Dance. From 2019 to 2024, Laika danced with both Les Grands Ballets and Ballet Ouest de Montreal. A fun fact about Laika is that she produces electronic music and has had multiple songs published. Also, she is rarely seen without a cup of coffee in hand.
