Karis exists within the continuum of charitable organizations that provide social services to vulnerable individuals living in our community and we are devoted to establishing a welcoming, safe and trustworthy environment where strength can develop. Karis Support Society is a non-profit organization that provides recovery-focused counselling, programming and support to women, and women with babies or children within a supportive home environment. Our clients are women whose experiences of trauma, abuse, crisis or overwhelming stress have led to substance abuse or mental health challenges which have negatively impacted their lives and they are now actively working on personal recovery. Karis is situated in the Okanagan Valley and our mandate is to empower and equip individuals with skills so that they can successfully transition back into society.

We are so full of gratitude to be the beneficiary of this incredible event … LIVEWIRE Live presented and hosted by Danielle Scheven | Mentor to Magickal Women Leaders ❤️.

For many years now Danielle has supported our recovery program for vulnerable women in our community … through hands on jewelry workshops in our classroom, speaking and hosting events in the community … honestly, the list is endless and so we are thrilled for this exciting new chapter for Danielle.

September is Recovery Month!

This week courtesy of Pattison Media you will hear our fabulous radio ads promoting the annual Recovery Day event which is taking place at Rowcliffe Park tomorrow from 1-3pm!

These ads were voiced by clients in our recovery program and Freedom’s Door … we hope you hear them cos’ these guys did such an amazing job!

Powerful, authentic and brave … they loved being part of something meaningful and giving back ❤️.

We’re excited to celebrate annual Recovery Day this weekend!

This is a free community event so please join us on Saturday September 12th from 1-3pm at Rowcliffe Park to celebrate lives saved through recovery!

The afternoon will be filled with fun … a colourful parade, food trucks, live music and a family friendly kids zone with activity booths.

We look forward to seeing you there!!

The Rotary Club of Kelowna Morningside deserves a big shout out for continuing to show up for our community year after year!

Last week Thursday our co-executive directors Geri Pauls and Deborah Klassen welcomed Rotarian Daryl Brost who delivered an amazing gift of $2,000 for our Essentials for Life Program.

EFL (as it is known) provides essential baby items such as diapers and formula for mothers in the early stages of parenting in our Parenting Recovery Program.

Morningside Rotary have been supporting this program for over 6 years and we are grateful each year for their generosity ❤️ .
