💔 Six sick puppies. One desperate plea for help. And a $14,000 veterinary bill we don't know how we're going to pay.
Last night, someone reached out to us. Six little puppies were sick, and they desperately needed help.
We said yes. To every single one of them.
Not because we had the money or the resources. But because the thought of turning them away was unbearable.
These babies have barely begun their lives. They should be chasing each other, discovering toys, filling their little bellies and falling asleep without a care in the world.
Instead, they're sick. Their little bodies are struggling, and they have no idea why.
They don't understand veterinary bills. They don't understand that rescues run out of money. They don't understand that sometimes getting help depends on whether someone can afford to say yes.
They just need someone to fight for them.
Their testing, diagnostics and medical care have been estimated at $14,000.
And we're terrified of how we're going to manage it.
Our small, volunteer-run foundation was already drowning in veterinary expenses. We have other animals depending on us, and every dollar is stretched thin.
We could have turned these puppies away. Financially, perhaps we should have.
But which one of these six little faces would you have said no to?
We couldn't choose. So we chose them all.
