Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to listen, learn, and remember.
We wear orange to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never made it home, and recognize the enduring strength of Indigenous families and communities. Reconciliation isn’t just a single day on the calendar—it’s an ongoing commitment to truth, understanding, and meaningful action every day. 🧡
Here at KCR Community Resources, we recognize that we have both learning and relationship-building to do with Indigenous peoples throughout colonial British Columbia, and we are committed to doing this with humility and curiosity. As an organization serving the social sector and striving to ensure all individuals and families are supported in leading healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives, we commit to dismantling harmful systems and ways of thinking.
We embrace the opportunity to learn from the Indigenous people who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial. Aligning with our core values of Respect, Integrity, Inclusiveness, and Empowerment, we endeavour to not simply speak these words, but to take action through continued collaboration, relationship-building, and learning/unlearning.
