Robert Bateman Get to Know Unconference Environmental Education and Awareness The second annual Get to Know International Unconference will take place on October 20-23, 2011, in Jasper, Alberta.

We will build upon the foundation of the first Unconference in Kelowna by continuing the development of a new kind of dialogue for connecting youth with nature – one which is inclusive, effective, enlightening, and focused. New and returning Unconference delegates will include high level leaders and innovators in three major sectors: NGOs, private sector, and government. Renowned nature artists an

d environmentalists Robert Bateman and Wyland will also join the dialogue, either in-person or via teleconference. We at Get to Know believe that the onus is on green leaders to set an example of how to cooperate and find innovative, pragmatic, and interdisciplinary solutions. Together, we will take the first step to prepare the next generation to take decisive action for the health of our planet by providing young North Americans with an opportunity to get to know their neighbours of other species – the animals and plants who live in their own “backyard”.
