Top New Entry (Phase 1)
LC Miriam Jarvis
When a cadet joins the sea cadet program, there’s usually a steep learning curve. They must learn to care for a new uniform, do drill, learn unfamiliar rank structures and the chain of command. The Top New Entry Cadet Award recognizes a Phase 1 cadet who has embraced the program with enthusiasm and sets a strong foundation for future growth. Presented to Leading Cadet Jarvis, the
top Phase 1 cadet, who has demonstrated exceptional engagement, learning and commitment in
her first year.
Junior Leadership
MC Angela Jiang
Presented to Master Cadet Jiang in recognition of her emerging leadership, initiative, and reliability.
Angela is an active and engaged leader on parade nights, demonstrating growing confidence in how she leads and supports others. She also goes above and beyond outside of training, using Teams to keep her division informed and connected. Angela consistently supports junior cadets while
continuing to develop her own leadership skills, and sets a strong example for those around her.
Teamwork
MC Desiree Stomp
One of the most important skills taught in the cadet program is that of teamwork, which is also a building block of leadership. This award goes to a cadet who excels at “being a team player” by
always ensuring her shipmates are well looked after, having a sunny outlook, offering many words of encouragement to others, and puts a great deal of effort into leading junior cadets. Presented to Master Cadet Stomp, whose reliability, positive attitude and willingness to support others exemplify true teamwork. Desiree consistently contributes to group success by encouraging peers, sharing responsibility and helping the corps succeed as a cohesive unit.
