You can do it, too! Build a better community by organizing a Block Party like this one recently held in the back lane between Aberdeen and Burnett. Neighbours came out for food, fun, flowers....and Fong! Fence painting was helped along by artist Alex Fong as well as a raffle for one of his pieces. Free wild flower seeds will mean the colours of the day will continue for years to come. Make it happen in YOUR 'hood!! Apply for a Meet the Street Kit through the City of Kelowna or go bigger and learn if your event qualifies for a grant. And KSAN will help you along with a $100 contribution to your special day. Write to [email protected] and we'll be happy to get you started!

Ask any one of the 275 people who came out to Rowcliffe Park to party to the sounds of Latin Music award winner Flor Aguilar, went home with a work of art on their face, made one the 70 mini-pinatas, painted and frolicked in the cardboard village, danced in the park to the catchy beats or enjoyed one of the the 230 smokies and wienies that were served up. Not to mention the happy prize winners...thanks to Home Depot and El Tacquero Restaurant on Ellis...what a great day in the neighbourhood!
