This July, Jessi Harewicz – the established ultra-marathon swimmer – will attempt the longest unassisted, non-stop swim on Canadian soil — a 106 km journey across Okanagan Lake from Vernon to Penticton.

Jessi is taking on this challenge to help expand access to youth mental health services across the Okanagan. Funds raised through her swim will benefit three new Foundry centres in development:

📍Foundry North Okanagan
📍Foundry on the Westside (West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, Peachland)
📍Foundry Summerland

To see how you can support Jessi and help expand youth mental health supports across the Okanagan, please scan the poster QR code or visit this link: https://cmhakelowna.crowdchange.ca/146861

Follow us as we reveal more about Jessi’s Swim in the coming days and weeks.

At this year's MBSS Walk for Mental Health, students, staff, families, local businesses, and community members came together once again, raising $17,607 for our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign to help bring Foundry services to the Westside.

To the leadership team at Mount Boucherie Secondary School, the student organizers, volunteers, participants, donors, sponsors, and everyone who laced up their shoes and joined the walk: thank you. Your passion, leadership, and commitment to supporting young people continue to inspire us.

This was more than a fundraiser. It was a powerful reminder that young people care deeply about one another and are willing to take action to create a community where support, connection, and mental health resources are available to everyone who needs them.

Thank you!

A sincere thank you to the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation for their generous support of caregivers in our community.

This funding will help expand caregiver education, resources, and learning opportunities through Discovery College, complementing the family and caregiver supports available through our Family Navigation Services. These programs help caregivers feel more informed, connected, and supported throughout their journey.

We are also grateful to the Petro-Canada business owners, employees, and customers whose fundraising efforts make this support possible. Thank you for recognizing the vital role caregivers play and helping ensure they have access to the resources they need.

A special thank you to the West Kelowna Rotary Club for their generous $5,000 donation in support of our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign to help bring Foundry to the Westside.

This contribution will specifically help furnish the future Foundry space on the Westside with youth-friendly furniture and welcoming touches that help young people feel comfortable, safe, and supported from the moment they walk through the door.

The West Kelowna Rotary Club are a strong Friend of Foundry, and we deeply appreciate their commitment to supporting the health and well-being of young people and families across the Westside.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming Honourable Ministers Jodie Wickens, Josie Osborne, Sheila Malcolmson, and Parliamentary Secretaries Dana Lajeunesse and Debra Toporowski to Foundry Kelowna.

As we walked through our space, we shared stories of impact, partnership, and community, including the youth advocates and Indigenous voices that help shape our work, as well as innovative local approaches to supporting our community through youth housing, employment as a health service, and our integrated mental health crisis response through CRCL.

Over the past year, Foundry Kelowna supported 1,639 young people through a record 10,224 appointments. But numbers only tell part of the story. More than a service, Foundry is a place where young people and caregivers can access support, build connections, and find a sense of belonging.

Thank you to our visitors for taking the time to learn more about the collective effort helping strengthen the health and well-being of our community.

Today, we stood before West Kelowna City Council and talked about our vision for a Foundry site on the Westside and celebrated a major milestone in our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap Campaign - securing a location for the future Foundry site.

The site will be located at #105 – 2370 Bering Rd. in Westbank, and we are excited for what this will mean for a young person struggling with their mental health, a parent trying to find support, or a family navigating challenges alone.

The Council's response gave us a lot of us hope.

Council voiced its support. Community leaders recognized the need. And Mayor Gord Milsom had a message for residents and businesses:

"Please, to our residents and our businesses, support this cause. It's really important to our youth."

That support matters because this isn't just about securing a location. It's about building it out, bringing in staff and welcoming young people into a place where they can find help, connection and hope closer to home.

The momentum is building. The vision is becoming real. And together, we can help ensure young people and families on the Westside are not alone.

Every donation moves the opening date closer.

Last Wednesday, we were proud to join our community at the Trans-Enby March & Social as part of Kelowna Pride celebrations. 🌈💛

This uplifting, all-ages event honoured our Two-Spirit, Trans, and Non-Binary community, creating space for joy, connection, visibility, and solidarity.

Thank you to Kelowna Pride and everyone who helped make the event such a welcoming and affirming experience. We are grateful to stand alongside our community in celebrating diversity, belonging, and the right for everyone to be their authentic selves.

Have you watched Seamus' story yet?

Seamus’ reflection gets to the heart of why we're working to bring Foundry services to the Westside.

In his story, Seamus shares how support helped him move forward and build a future centered around his passion for music. Today, he's playing the keys, releasing original music, and pursuing new opportunities.

For us, it's the reminder that the right support at the right time can change the course of a young person's life.

As we work to bring Foundry services to the Westside through our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign, we're helping ensure more young people and families can access supports that are closer to home and impactful.

If you haven't watched Seamus' story yet, we invite you to take a few minutes and hear his journey on our page, Website or YouTube: https://youtu.be/DYfjZ9-Ko_4

Once open, the future Foundry site on the Westside will offer:

☑️Walk-in mental health counselling
☑️Family navigation and support
☑️Peer support
☑️Connections to substance use services, primary care, and community supports

Every donation moves the opening date closer.
