🥚It's World Egg Day!
Egg-cellent timing as just yesterday, COFB received pallets of eggs - a generous donation that will provide valuable nutrition to many households.

These eggs will be shared with other food banks across our region, helping bring a versatile kitchen staple to the tables of families and individuals in our communities.

Bring home a little taste of fall 🍎

Today, these two wonderful volunteers stopped by to make fresh apple pies as part of our Bake the World a Better Place campaign! 🥧

Using apples from our Food Rescue Program, the pies are now frozen and ready to bake and enjoy at home. Every purchase helps COFB continue to support local neighbours facing food insecurity.

Growing food, nourishing our community, and making a difference!

Last week, UBCO alumni joined the Vibrant Veggie team at Helen's Acres Community Farm for an incredible day of harvesting 2,691 pounds of fresh produce! This harvest of squash, cantaloupe, potatoes, and more provides fresh, nourishing food to households across our community.

The Vibrant Veggie is a longtime supporter of COFB and many other local organizations. Through generous produce donations, sharing gardening knowledge, and bringing people together, this special garden plot nourishes our community in many ways.

A heartfelt thank you to the Vibrant Veggie team for the care, time, and dedication you put into supporting our community. We’re so grateful for the difference you make! ❤🥔🍈

A moment of gratitude for the remarkable generosity shown by our community! ❤

Through the 18th annual BC Thanksgiving Food Drive last week, COFB received over 32,400 pounds of donations between Kelowna and West Kelowna! 👏

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to make a donation. Your generosity makes a meaningful difference as COFB gears up for our busiest season. To the volunteers who delivered donation bags, unloaded trucks, and sorted thousands of donations, thank you for giving your time and working hard for your community.
A special thank you to Domino’s for keeping our volunteers fueled throughout the day!

We’re so grateful for a community that continues to come together with generosity and care. ❤

Food For Thought is back! 🍎🎒

With the new school year underway, COFB’s Food for Thought program is back in action.

Every child deserves the chance to learn and grow without hunger getting in the way. COFB's Food for Thought program provides nutritious meals and take-home food backpacks each week to children in School District 23, helping students stay nourished, focused, and ready to learn.

The COFB team and volunteers are excited to be back for another school year -providing nourishing food to students, and helping our community thrive. ❤🍎🎒

Have you received your BC Thanksgiving Food Drive bag? 🥫

All donations collected in Kelowna and West Kelowna will go directly to the Central Okanagan Food Bank, helping local families access nourishing food throughout the Thanksgiving season.

To participate, put your non-perishable food donations in the bag provided, and leave it on your porch or curb at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 19th for volunteer pickup.

This hands-on role includes collecting donated and rescued food from community partners and supporting daily warehouse operations. You’ll be helping reduce food waste and get more nourishing food to neighbours in need.

It's almost time for the 18th annual BC Thanksgiving Food Drive! ❤

Next week, BC Thanksgiving Food Drive bags will be delivered to local households. To participate, simply fill your bag with non-perishable food, then leave it on your doorstep at 9 a.m. on September 19 for volunteer pickup.

All food collected in Kelowna and West Kelowna will be delivered to COFB locations to help feed our community throughout the Thanksgiving season!

No bag? Volunteers will also be collecting donations at all Save-On-Foods locations in Kelowna and West Kelowna (times varying) or drop off is available at COFB locations.
