🕊️ Kelowna — The 486th International City of Peace! 🌎

A meaningful conversation, a moment of reflection, and a shared commitment to building a more peaceful future for our city.

During our meeting with Mayor Tom Dyas, we reflected on the significance of Kelowna being recognized as the 486th International City of Peace and the responsibility that comes with this recognition.

This is more than a title. It is an opportunity to bring our community closer, strengthen compassion and understanding, encourage meaningful dialogue, and turn the values of peace into everyday action.

Through the Heartfulness Institute, our volunteers remain committed to nurturing inner peace, fostering harmony, and bringing individuals, community organizations, businesses, and civic leaders together around a shared vision.

Our journey does not end with recognition — it begins with renewed responsibility. Together, we look forward to expanding peace-related activities across Kelowna, creating more opportunities for meditation, community engagement, interfaith understanding, and collective reflection.

Let us work together to elevate Kelowna’s contribution to peace on the global platform and inspire other communities to follow.

🕊️ United Nations Peace Day | Heartfulness Institute

For the past several years, MLA Gavin Dew has consistently placed importance on Peace Day celebrations in our local communities.

Whenever our Heartfulness volunteers reached out, his response was always welcoming:

“Please let me know how we can make this day more meaningful.”

That spirit of participation and community connection was once again evident at our United Nations Peace Day – Invest in Peace celebration on September 20.

Gavin was a wonderful participant in our panel discussion, and we look forward to sharing highlights from that conversation with our community in the near future.

At Heartfulness, we believe peace begins within each individual and grows through families, neighbourhoods and communities. We deeply appreciate those who make time to support conversations that bring people together.

Our sincere wishes to Gavin Dew for continued success in his public service and community work. May his efforts continue to contribute positively to the people and communities he serves.

🕊️ Honoured to Recognize Our Peace Keepers 🕊️

WestCabs officials felt truly honoured to join the Heartfulness Institute in presenting the “Peace Champion” Certificate to the S/Sgt and Captain of the RCMP West Kelowna Detachment, recognizing their dedicated service and commitment to our community.

A heartfelt thank you to the West Kelowna RCMP for inviting us into the home of our peace keepers — the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment.

It was a privilege to be welcomed into your workplace, share a moment of gratitude, and recognize those who serve our community every day.

We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate peace not only as an idea, but through the people who live it through service, responsibility, compassion and community safety.

It is worth recalling the words of Lord Christ: “Be ye like little children.” This childlike state reflects innocence and purity. A child does not carry the burden of ego that says, “I know it all.” Such attitudes close the door to learning and limit the expansion of consciousness. When we remain simple, open, and receptive, growth happens naturally.

May the light of Christ awaken simplicity in our hearts and guide us toward love, clarity, and deeper awareness. Heartfelt Christmas greetings to all.
