This month, with generous funding from CMHA and BC Housing, NOW Canada officially opened the new Alexandra Gardner Women & Children Safe Centre, a beautiful, safe space with 24 transitional housing suites and 20 shelter beds for women and children experiencing homelessness in Kelowna.

Each floor includes a shared pantry and fridge to help women move forward with dignity and support.

Thanks to Peter’s Your Independent Grocer and Lake Country Food Bank, the fridges are starting to fill, but we need your help to keep them stocked!

NOW Canada is Hiring a New Executive Director

After years of steadfast leadership, our Executive Director is stepping down, and we are now seeking a compassionate, strategic leader to carry the mission forward.

NOW Canada Society has been serving vulnerable women, youth, and children in Kelowna since 1998. Through a full continuum of care—including emergency shelter, recovery-focused housing, affordable units, and safe homes for mothers and children fleeing violence—we work to provide sustainable pathways to healing and independence.

We’re looking for someone with a deep commitment to equity, recovery, and community building. The Executive Director will work closely with our dedicated staff and Board of Directors to lead our programs, strengthen partnerships, and secure the resources needed to sustain and expand our impact.

Role: Executive Director
Location: Kelowna, BC
Salary Range: $95,000–$115,000 annually, with benefits and matching RRSPs
Deadline to Apply: June 15, 2025

NOW Canada is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeping Assistant with a focus on payroll to join our team!

🕒 24–32 hours/week
📅 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (daytime hours may be flexible for the right candidate)
🎉 Benefits: Dental, Extended Health Care, and RRSP

Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Process payroll for 50+ employees (Sage 50 Accounting)
✔️ Manage employee records, benefits, and ROEs
✔️ Ensure compliance with labor laws and reporting requirements
✔️ Support accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations

What We’re Looking For:
📚 Formal bookkeeping education + 2+ years’ payroll experience
💻 Proficiency in Sage 50, Excel, and bookkeeping processes
🎯 Attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong organization
