Grief comes in many forms, for many reasons: What brings you here? Who? What? Why? Are you grieving?
Let's talk.
How can we support you?
Let's support each other.
Are you interested in coming together in a group each week?

The Earth did not ask me to be strong.
She only asked me to stay.

Circle of Light
by Keiya Tasire

I went to the earth
because she knows what to do with sorrow.
I did not arrive strong.

I arrived carrying what could not be fixed,
what could not be returned,
what love had once held.

So I sat down among the roots and let the ground steady me.

The soil did not hurry my healing. It welcomed the weight
and showed me how even fallen things
become nourishment in time.

When the tears came,
I did not turn them away.

Water understands grief. It moves, it releases,
it carves new pathways through stone.

My tears were not a breaking โ€”
they were a remembering
that the heart is meant to flow.

Morning found me there,
and with it the quiet mercy of sunlight.
Not harsh, not demanding โ€”
just a gentle warmth
resting on my shoulders.

Light does not argue with darkness.
It simply remains
until the shadows soften.

I lifted my face
and breathed.

The air entered freely,
filling the hollowed places within me.
Each breath a small returning.

Each exhale a letting go.
There is healing in breath โ€”
a reminder that life
is still choosing us.

And deep within,
beneath the ache,
a small flame endured.

Love does not die.
It changes form.
It becomes the fire that keeps watch
when the night feels endless.

I learned not to extinguish that flame
with questions that have no answers.

Instead, I cupped it gently and let it teach me how to live again.

So here I remain โ€”
within the great circle.
Held by earth.
Washed by water.
Warmed by sun.
Carried by air.

Guided by the quiet fire
of a loving soul that still walks with me.

Grief did not close my life. It opened it.

And in the turning of this sacred circle,
I am learning โ€” slowly, tenderly โ€”
that healing is not forgetting.

Healing is allowing love
to root more deeply
than the loss.

There are seasons in motherhood we donโ€™t talk about muchโ€”the ones after the children are grown, when the house grows quiet and memory takes on a life of its own.

So beautiful, so true โค๏ธ

"When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart. For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost."
(Frederick Buechner: Whistling in the Dark: A Doubter's Dictionary - art by Stephen Allen)

When it is possible to become more subseptable to infections, colds, etc.
If you have a loved one or yourself who is grieving, this is a way to bring extra comfort and assurance during grieving.

For the Parents Who Love from Afar

This season is loud with laughter
and quiet with unspoken pain.

Lights glow in windows
where some hearts sit in the dark.

If you are a parent
holding a love with no address,
no invitation,
no replyโ€”
you are not invisible here.

Your grief has a name.
It is love
with nowhere to land.
You set an extra place
in your heart,
even when the table is empty.

You wrap gifts in memory,
in hope,
in prayers whispered where no one hears.
Please know this:
your love did not fail.
It did not disappear.
It did not stop being sacred
because it is unseen.

Love does not require proximity
to be real.

It does not dissolve with silence.
It waits.
It breathes.
It endures.

This season,
be gentle with yourself.
You are allowed to grieve
what should have been
while still honoring
what is.

Somewhereโ€”
beyond time, beyond eternity.

The holidays can be very hard when a loved one has died, your first Christmas away from family, when your children are at your ex's home for Christmas, after loosing a pet, when you will not be with your best friend, or other loss in life ๐Ÿ’”
It is real. It hurts. Please take some time to share memories, remember the good times. Or go off by yourself to review photos, read their journal, go through your scrapbook, or to just have a good cry and pray for your ancestors or lost loved one to wrap their arms around you spiritually. It is okay to take care of yourself your self too this holiday season.
Sending Huge Hugs to any and all who need one this season.

No matter the century, year, month, or day
To loose a child to an accident; sickness or death, is a very hard challenge to face; learn and grow through. The a sense of their laughter and pitter patter of their feet across the floor is speaks loudly of their heart wrenching absence.
๐Ÿ’” Please resist blaming.
๐Ÿ’” Do holding each other through your pain
๐Ÿ’” Do listen w/o judgement
๐Ÿ’” Do be in silence together, as there are times when no words comfort are the best comforters.

This poem speaks of a mother and father remembering and comforting....together...

Whispers of Her Light

For the child we hold in love beyond this world

๐ŸŒธ Mother:
I heard the wind today speak your nameโ€”
a hush so soft, it broke my heart again.
The sun had tucked its golden thread
into the place where you once lay your head.

๐ŸŒผ Father:
And I saw your shoes by the garden wall,
still waiting for your skipping call.
The roses bloom, but not the sameโ€”
each petal echoes just your name.

๐ŸŒธ Mother:
Do you remember how youโ€™d laugh at rain?
You made the world feel whole, not plain.
Now the sky just cries and so do I,
and even silence asks me why.

๐ŸŒผ Father:
We made her lunches side by side.
We told her stories, watched her ride.
And now we sit with empty platesโ€”
and time, it bends but never waits.

๐ŸŒธ Mother:
She danced like stars upon the lake,
with dreams so wide they made us ache.
We held her close, we gave her allโ€”
but love can't catch what angels call.

๐ŸŒผ Father:
Still, I feel her in your trembling hand,
in the quiet way you help me stand.
We grieve in threads, we speak in sighs,
yet in this loss, our love still ties.

๐ŸŒน Together:
She is the breath between each word,
the song we sing though never heard.
And though sheโ€™s gone beyond our view,
she left her light in me and you.

๐ŸŒธMother:
Letโ€™s remember every laugh she gave.
Father:
Letโ€™s plant her name in every wave.

๐ŸŒน Together:
For though our arms may hold her not,
our hearts are fullโ€”she's not forgot.
