Kaslo Mountain Biking Promoting the Kaslo and area trail network & the valuable work of the Kaslo Mountain Bike Club (KMBC)

Kaslo has a unique topography making it a natural destination for mountain biking. The benefits of expanding on our current trail system are many including: offering a healthy recreation opportunity to our community and thereby increasing our health and fitness levels overall; and increasing opportunities for children-in-sport by providing an area specific for beginner trail users to expand their

skills… and have fun. It will help facilitate community participation as the vision of the Mount Buchanan area gets defined and developing a mountain bike trail network will help facilitate summer tourism. It should be noted that the new, well designed mountain bike trail system makes for excellent hiking trails in the summer and snow shoe routes in the winter. The emphasis is on non-motorized non-equestrian recreation opportunity for Kaslo and area citizens. Kaslo Wild Ultra is looking for volunteers to help this July 10, 11, and 12!

We’re looking for people to help with:
• Course marking
• Aid stations cheering on runners
• Registration and check-in

It’s a fun way to be part of an amazing community event and support runners out on our incredible trails.

As a thank you, the Kaslo Wild Ultra will donate $40 for every volunteer to the trail organization of their choice. The remaining event profits go to Wildwood Discovery Society, a non-profit focused on getting kids learning in nature.

A special thanks and a whole lot of love to the Luckey-Remple's for carrying on J's Strawberry Race with us, and to Naish out there racing on his dad's bike! I know J was up there with his glitter bomb heckling everyone over Strawberry Ridge!

Sorry for the late notice team! The KMBC is starting up our weekly trail maintenance nights again... the first one is TOMORROW! Did you enjoy using the facilities at Moose Meadows or the Bucky Cabin this summer? Maybe a mid-ride snack break or an outhouse stop before climbing the Friendly Giant?

It's that time of year where we prepare these beloved places for winter trail users. Please join the Kaslo Nordic Ski Club work party on Saturday October 25 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Meet at the Moose Meadows Cabin at 10am. Bring warm clothes, work gloves, large clippers, a pole saw, and your best snow dance! As per KORTS policy we ask that all new volunteers complete a waiver form available on site. Thanks for helping us maintain these special places and we hope to see you there!
