Rotary Club of Kanata The Rotary Club of Kanata was established in March 1999 and provides community and international support to many humanitarian endeavours.

A great morning at the Rotary Club of Kanata!

Today we were pleased to welcome our 2026 bursary recipients, Umaiza and Agustin, who joined us to share a bit about themselves and their plans for the future. Supporting local students is always a highlight for our club, and we look forward to seeing where their next steps take them.

Kefas also shared his reflections from the Rotary International Convention in Taipei, which left more than a few of us thinking we may need to start planning for next year’s convention in Barcelona.

And finally, congratulations to Dwight, who won Chase the Ace... to the surprise of absolutely no one. We’re not saying he has gamed the system… but we are paying attention. 👀

Congratulations to Umaiza and Agustin once again, and thank you to everyone who joined us this morning!

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating our 2026 ROK Leadership Changeover with a Fiesta!

Today we thanked Ruth as she passed the reins after three years of dedicated leadership. Throughout her presidency, Ruth has been the very definition of Service Above Self—leading with kindness, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our club, our members, and our community. Thank you, Ruth, for your incredible leadership and everything you have done to help our club thrive.

We also officially welcomed Charles as our new President. We know his enthusiasm, vision, and passion for Rotary will lead our club into an exciting new chapter, and we look forward to supporting him throughout the year ahead.

A huge thank you to Dwight for once again opening your home and hosting this fantastic celebration. Your hospitality made the day truly special.

And thank you to FAT BASTARD BURRITO CO. for catering our 2026 Fiesta with an amazing Mexican feast that everyone enjoyed!

Today, the Rotary Club of Kanata welcomed Cara-Leigh Wyllie, Executive Director of the Kanata Food Cupboard , who shared a sobering look at the growing level of food insecurity in our community, as well as the incredible work they are doing.

Some of the statistics shared included:

22,951 individuals supported in 2025, including 9,610 children

Up from 11,228 individuals in 2021

5,546 families and households supported in 2025

A 103% increase in families needing support over the past five years

The Rotary Club of Kanata was proud to present a $1,000 donation in support of the important work being done to help families across our community.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our monthly Rotary social and everyone is welcome! Casual drop-in from 5pm.

Whether you’re a long-time member, brand new to Rotary, Rotary-curious, or just looking for a fun evening with good people, we’d love to see you there. Feel free to bring partners, friends, kiddos, neighbours, and anyone interested in learning more about Rotary.

There will be cold beer on tap from Ridge Rock Brewing Company and plenty of hot dogs ready to go. A tip jar will also be out for cash donations to the bartender.

We’ll also have co****le, giant Connect 4, giant Jenga, and a few other games for anyone wanting to be a little more active.

If beer, water, and hot dogs aren’t your thing, feel free to bring along your drink or snack of choice. Also, consider bringing a chair, we have some seating available, but not enough!

If you’re bringing a whole crew, an RSVP is appreciated so we can plan food and seating accordingly. Otherwise, feel free to just show up.
