Upcoming CAMMAC concert several choir members are in.

We're only two weeks away from our final concert of the season with one of our most exciting and challenging programs yet!

If you've been to any of our concerts before, you likely would have heard some incredible music from the romantic era (1800s) which is known for being full of expression and beautiful melodies. We're changing it up this time around and jumping from the classical era (1700s) to newer 20th century music.

You will hear the brass and percussion start off with Fanfare for the Common Man by Copland, composed in 1942. We jump back in time to 1778 when Mozart's 31st symphony premiered. This music is graceful, elegant and light which can be very challenging to master! Afterwards, you will hear something completely different from anything we've played before! Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 which was composed in 1937, is filled with drama and tension. Composed under Stalin's regime, it's debated if the symphony ends on a tragic or triumphant note.

Come hear us perform on Friday, May 15th at 8 pm or Saturday, May 16th at 3 pm. Both concerts are at Woodroffe United Church and cost only $25 for an adult ticket! Purchase tickets at the door or in advance from divertimento.ca/tickets.
