🥕🍓 Thank you, Ottawa Summer Food Drive! 🌽🥬

We were so grateful to receive 1,175.9 lbs of fresh produce delivered today from the Ottawa Summer Food Drive! This donation will have an immediate impact, helping us provide nutritious food to the families and children we support this summer.

As local food insecurity continues to grow, we know how vital this support is in addressing summer child food insecurity in Ottawa - bridging the gap for families and helping children stay nourished, healthy, and supported all summer long.

A heartfelt thank you to the families and educators at 31 Ottawa-Carleton DSB schools, as well as Khalsa Aid Canada, Odd Bunch | Affordable Produce Delivery 🇨🇦, local Ottawa businesses, and volunteers who made this donation possible.

We are so grateful for this incredible community support 💛

🌟 A huge thank‑you to the incredible team from Mitel! 🌟

We were thrilled to have them join us today, and they absolutely powered through a ton of important work before families arrived to shop in person.

The Mitel crew:
• Stocked our shelves beautifully
• Cleaned and refreshed our store area
• Rotated inventory in our warehouse to keep everything organized and safe

Their energy, teamwork, and commitment made a real impact - and helped us welcome families into a clean, dignified, and well‑stocked space. This is what strong volunteer support looks like, and we’re so grateful.

Thank you, Mitel, for rolling up your sleeves and helping us care for our community. 💛💪

A huge shoutout to Amsted Design-Build! 🎉

Their annual Partner Appreciation Barbecue wasn’t just a great time, it turned into a massive act of kindness. Together, their team and partners collected an incredible 850 lbs of food and $310 to support local families.

That’s the kind of community generosity that fuels our work and reminds us how powerful it is when neighbours come together with purpose.

Every pound, every dollar, every gesture helps us support local families with dignity and choice - and this donation will go a long way.

Thank you, Amsted team, for showing up in such a big way. Your impact is real, and we’re so grateful. 💛💪

A huge thank‑you to Joan and Ken from the Bells Corners Community Garden!🌱💚

They stopped by yesterday with a gorgeous harvest of white, red, and purple radishes - all freshly picked and donated for the families we support. The colours were beautiful, and the generosity was even better.

Joan and Ken and the Bells Corners Community Garden team are part of the Community Backyard Garden Pilot Project (Kanata/Ottawa/Carp), where neighbours actively grow, share, and help others access local, healthy food. Their commitment to community‑driven growing is exactly what makes community gardens so powerful.

We’re incredibly grateful for their kindness, their time, and their dedication to local food initiatives that nourish our community in such meaningful ways.

Thank you, Joan and Ken - your harvest made our day and will brighten the tables of many families. 🌿

🌱 We’re growing - and we need your help!

Our Kanata Food Cupboard Garden produced 1,700 lbs of fresh, healthy food for local families last year, and we’re aiming even higher this season.

To make it happen, we’re looking for dedicated volunteers to join our garden team.

If you:

- Have some gardening experience
- Have a flexible schedule (daytime availability is especially helpful)
- Can bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs

…we’d love to have you on board.

Your time in the garden directly helps support local families - and there’s nothing more rewarding than watching your work grow into real impact.
