Our primary mission is to offer the healthiest food choices and support to those we serve by engaging and inspiring our volunteers, donors, partners, and community. The Kanata Food Cupboard is a non-profit charitable organization, with any profits or assets realized from its operation being used for the sole purpose of promoting its objectives. Its primary mission is to provide the healthiest possible food choices by engaging and inspiring our Kanata community. Services are provided to all residents of the community, regardless of race, ethnicity, ability, age, sexual orientation, income or religion. The organization is non-sectarian, non-denominational, non-partisan, working for the best interests of its members and clients.

Four local TD Bank branches have teamed up to make a difference in our community, donating an incredible $4,000 to the
Kanata Food Cupboard

A special thank you to the wonderful teams at TD Klondike, Eagleson, Kanata Centrum, and Market Square for coming together and showing just how much good can happen when our local businesses give back.

That $4,000 will go a long way in helping us put food on the shelves and support neighbours facing food insecurity.

We'd say that's a pretty great return on kindness! 😉💚

This year's Sensgiving weekend brought some incredible generosity our way, with a $10,000 cheque and 600 lbs of food donated to the Kanata Food Cupboard.🥫🎉

We're so grateful to the Senators Community Foundation, Coming In Hot, and the amazing Sens fans who opened their hearts (and wallets!) to support local food banks.

A special thank you to the Calian volunteers who helped collect donations at the gates and made this year's Sensgiving such a success!

That's a whole lot of community spirit packed into one arena, and it means so much to the families and individuals we serve.

Great food, fantastic drinks, wonderful company, and a community that knows how to come together for a great cause!

Our second annual Kanata Bites & Delights at the beautiful Brookstreet Hotel was an evening full of flavour, laughter, and community spirit!

To our incredible local restaurants, food vendors and beverage partners, thank you for bringing your talents and delicious creations to the table. You truly made the evening something special!

To our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who joined us, your generosity and enthusiasm helped make this event possible.

And the best part? Beyond all the delicious bites and delightful sips, the evening supported the Kanata Food Cupboard's School Snacks Program, helping provide nutritious snacks to children in our community.

We loved seeing so many people come together, enjoy themselves and support a cause that matters.

A huge shoutout to Mason from the 3rd Kanata Scout Group, Alpha Troop, who collected an incredible 350 pounds of non-perishable food and $104.25 in donations for the Kanata Food Cupboard as part of his Chief Scout's Award! 👏

The Kanata Food Cupboard is looking for a new Chair of our Board of Directors, and we'd love to hear from someone who shares our commitment to building a more food-secure community.

As Board Chair, you'll play an important role in guiding our organization, supporting our mission, and helping us continue to grow and respond to the changing needs of our community.

We're looking for someone who brings strong leadership, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

🦃 THE TURKEYS HAVE LANDED! 🦃

And that can only mean one thing…The Kanata Food Cupboard Thanksgiving Hamper Day is officially underway! 💚

We’ve got boxes to build, hampers to pack, turkeys to wrangle, vehicles to load and a whole lot to get ready before our registered families begin arriving for pickups, and we head out for deliveries later today.

Behind it all will be an incredible crew of volunteers working together to make sure everything is ready to roll.

It’s busy. It’s a little bit crazy. And it’s one of those days that reminds us just how amazing this community really is.

This past Saturday, the Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary collected an amazing 1,165 lbs of food and $1,225.60 in cash donations for the Kanata Food Cupboard through their Operation Full Plate food drive!

We are so grateful to the Ontario Provincial Police for including us in this province-wide initiative, and to the teams at Food Basics on Katimavik Rd. and the Real Canadian Superstore on Eagleson Rd. for helping make the day possible.

And to everyone who stopped by, added a few extra items to their cart, or made a cash donation, you made this possible.

Seeing our community come together like this means so much, especially at a time when more of our neighbours are turning to the Kanata Food Cupboard for support.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Robert Shaw for once again getting on his bike and turning kilometres into meaningful support for the Kanata Food Cupboard and the families we serve. ❤️

What began as Robert’s idea in 2019 to connect his network with a local cause has grown into six years of generosity, community spirit, and an incredible commitment to helping neighbours experiencing food insecurity.

And this year, Robert delivered once again:

🥫 300 lbs of food
💵 $1,220 in cash donations
🚴 30.22 km biked
Countless conversations, smiles, and support along the way.
And 801 calories burned… which Robert assures us were promptly replaced with two chocolate croissants!

Over the past six years, Robert’s Cranksgiving rides have now contributed more than $7,500 and approximately 1,900 lbs of food to the Kanata Food Cupboard.

Robert, we are incredibly grateful that this wasn’t the year you decided to hang up the helmet. 💚

And to every friend, family member, colleague, client, and business who donated, encouraged, shared, or cheered Robert on, thank you. Your generosity makes a very real difference for families right here in our community.
