Turning gently used items into Christmas magic Hello, and welcome to our page. We ended up helping 71 families, with a total of 188 children!!

How did we get here?….well, in 2025, our family hosted a free Christmas shopping day, for families who needed a little help with Christmas. It started out as a small family Christmas project, where we were hoping to help about 10 families, but when word got around about what we were doing, we got a ton of donations from people all across Kamloops. Castanet and CBC Radio both did stories on this, w

hich spread the word even more, which resulted in even more donations of new and gently used items. It was such a huge success, and we had so much fun doing it, that our family decided to make it a yearly event, and Operation Christmas Elf was born.

Well Kamloops, you did it again. Thanks to you, our garage sale was a huge success. So many people came by, and it was surprising to me that so many of them already knew about Operation Christmas Elf and what we do…word is getting out there. We also got a few more volunteers sign up to help with our free Christmas shopping day, so yay!, because we’re going to need a LOT of them.

Thank you…to everyone who came out to support us in ways big and small, our volunteers for all the help and laughter, Sahali Mall for lending us their tables again, and last but not least, my amazing husband and daughter for putting up with the chaos. Without all of you, Operation Christmas Elf couldn’t exist, and I appreciate every single one of you, so thank you.🩷

Now it’s time to start planning our free Christmas shopping day. I’ll keep you posted on our progress.

I almost forgot…we raised almost $1200.00!!!…awesome!!!🎉

The rain isn’t stopping us today! Everything that is left over from our garage sale yesterday is still out in the garage so you can shop out of the weather.
All items are free! Donations appreciated, but not required. All proceeds help to support purchasing new gifts for this year’s event.

Open now until 2:00, or until we run out of stuff!

at 2688 Willowbrae Drive in Aberdeen, from 8am to noon

I absolutely love this! This was donated by one of our followers (who wants to remain anonymous). She literally rebuilt, and refurbished this rocking chair…which was in pieces when she got it, and repurposed a nightstand to go with it. Such a beautiful job by a very talented person! What little girl wouldn’t love to have this as her own little reading nook?🩷

Hi everyone. Yes, I know it’s been a while since we last posted, but come summer time, my garden takes up most of my time. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t still been busy with Operation Christmas Elf. Donations for our free Christmas shopping day are still coming in regularly, my craft room is filled once again with garage sale donations, and plans are underway for our next garage sale…which will be held mid to late August. AND…while I’ve been tending to the garden, my favourite elf decided we needed more treasure boxes, so he disappeared into the workshop. He also decided to refurbish some little table and chair sets we’d been given too…can you tell he really likes that blue colour? 😂Thanks Bruce💞. Check out his work in progress.

Our collection of donated bikes is starting to grow. I'll clean them up, and try to make them look as new as possible, but I don’t know anything about the mechanics of them, so I’m hoping to find a volunteer who could check them over for us. Mostly I just want to make sure that they’re safe for the kids who’ll be getting them at Christmas, but if you’re up to doing a few minor repairs too, that’s even better. If anyone is interested, please message me, or if you know someone who might be interested, would you please pass along our information? Thanks 😁

My favourite elf (my husband) has been busy in the workshop again. This time he built us an assortment of bookshelves with small toy storage space in the bottom. Beautiful job Bruce, thank you😁.

This one’s a real long shot, so cross your fingers everyone. We’ve been given a bass guitar for our free Christmas shopping day, and I’m hoping to find a small amplifier to go with it. Wouldn’t that be an awesome present?!? So, if any of you know someone who’s ready to part with one…free or cheap, would you please let me know, or pass along our information? Thanks 😁🤞🤞🤞🤞

So…our first garage sale was a huge success, but now it’s time to start collecting for our fall one. We’ll be doing that partly through our regular donation process of course, but I’d like to reach out to anyone who is having their own garage sale this summer. If you have anything left over after your sale, please keep us in mind?…thanks😁

Well that was quite the weekend. We had SO many people come through here for our garage sale…on both days. We got a few more people who want to join our volunteer team, we got so much encouragement for what we’re doing, we got to spread the word about Operation Christmas Elf…AND…we brought in over $1100.00 for our free Christmas shopping day!!! Thank you so much to everyone who came by, everyone who donated, and the Sahali mall for lending us their tables, and to our volunteers. We couldn’t have done this without you🩷
