The Kamloops Disc Golf Club is one of the largest and most active clubs in BC. We are dedicated to s We love the sport of disc golf! What else is there to say?

A lot actually!

2020 saw the biggest growth in our club's history with 75+ members. Then 2021 went and SHATTERED that record with over 200+ active members. With that, 2022 is already on its way to breaking another membership record. This is incredibly exciting to all of us. More members, means more players in the sport. This leads to more support of the sport, more courses, better resources, and most of all, more people enjoying our favorite past time! As our club grows, we understand as the KDGC Board needs to grow too! We are improving our systems, our sites, our communication, and together we are improving our club. If you are a current member, we appreciate you! If you are a new member, reach out so we get to know you

If you are not yet a member but play, We would love to have you as a member of our club! The more, the better! If you have never played, and are trying to figure out what this sport is all about, Please, please, please message us here on Facebook, or email and come play a round! one of our members would be happy to take you out, loan you some discs, and explain the sport! We hope to see you on the courses!

The KDGC uses each year to not only fundraise, but apply for grants in order to upgrade and maintain our local courses.

This year, we are grateful to be a recipient of a Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund grant. The funds we received allowed us to print and install signage at Dick Hart! The kiosk has also been installed and is ready for the course map that is currently at the printers!

Our volunteers work tirelessly, not just on building and maintenance, but at their computers scouring the internet for grants and then spending countless hours filling out paperwork and moving through the steps necessary to qualify for opportunities like the Sports Legacy Fund.
The KDGC is fortunate to have people of many skills, working together to build such a solid foundation for growth. They are the reason disc golf is alive and well in Kamloops.

This is a City closure!
The KDGC has been asked by the City to let players know that disc golf will not be permitted during the posted time.
Please respect this closure and the district athletes competing and avoid Mac Island during the competition.

Well, that’s a wrap!
The 2026 Junior Fall Classic is in the books! And…WOW! What a weekend!
60 kids ranging in age from 6-18 with many never playing in a tournament before!

Stephen Porcaro and Brandon Belanger, founders of Fairway Forward, worked tirelessly this year to once again guarantee a completely free experience for the kids. From an incredible presenting sponsor, MVP Disc Sports / Axiom Discs , to hydration & snack sponsors to tournament support sponsors, everything came together better than imagined!

This event is an opportunity for families to bring their kids out for a weekend focused on fun, friendship and for some, competition and not have to worry about any cost associated with actually playing in a tournament!
What did all the fundraising and sponsorship provide?
Here is everything the kids received FOR FREE:
🥏disc golf bag
🥏3 discs
🥏towel & mini
🥏velcro disc golf patch
🥏Learn the Basics Clinic with MA40 World Champion & MVP sponsored Pro, Chance Stad
🥏Putting Competition (with prizing)
🥏Long Drive Competition (with prizing)
🥏 lunch both days
🥏snack and beverages both days

The smiles, energy, hype and laughter were at an all time high with sportsmanship as the highlight. Experienced players used rules violations as learning opportunities and found words of encouragement when the new players felt frustrated 😊 With so many new players and first time players, the goal is keep them playing and learning rather than adding extra strokes to their score. Definitely a positive tournament experience for everyone!

We all know an event like this doesn’t come together without volunteers. And did the KDGC Ambassadors and members ever bring it! They set up the course, did tournament central set up and take down each day, checked kids in, served lunch, spotted, did PDGA “paperwork”, ran cardboard & garbage runs, helped with the skills competition…and so much more. Thank you to all of you for giving up your weekend.

To Stephen and Brandon, thank you for trusting us with your vision and allowing us to be part of something so special! We’re already looking forward to 2027!

From teacher wellness program participant, to UPlay training, and to PDGA Scholastic Club leader, Katee Smeaton is growing the sport in her community!

A teacher at Brock Secondary, Katee discovered disc golf through a wellness program offered by the Kamloops Disc Golf Club. When the Kamloops Thompson Teachers Association and the KDGC brought in Uplay Disc Golf to lead Professional Development for teachers, Katee was there with 40 other teachers gaining inspiration and building the skills to bring disc golf back to her students.

With support from the PDGA Scholastic Club Grant, she was able to purchase disc golf equipment for her school and helped launch a school disc golf program that now draws 20–45 students during the lunch hour!

Katee has also introduced disc golf with the local university where she led sessions for students from Taiwan, Japan and Mexico.

Thank you, Katee, for your passion and for growing disc golf!

In 2004, a small dedicated group of disc golfers calling themselves the Kamloops Disc Golf Club, partnered with the City of Kamloops to bring the Canadian National Disc Golf Championships to Kamloops. At that time, the tournament broke Canadian records for attendance and payouts. It was the beginning of a long and successful hosting resume for the club!

Since then, Kamloops has been home to the 2011 and 2013 Canadian National Championships as well as dozens of other PDGA sanctioned tournaments including the last five years of one of BC’s top A Tier’s, The Tournament Capital Open. So, mark your calendars and plan to be in Kamloops in 2028!
Come to compete, stay and play!

Follow us on Facebook and Instsgram to watch the planning unfold. More information will be available in the coming months.
