About Us
The term “cancer survivor” refers to someone who has a history of cancer.
The term “survivor” may not appeal to everyone with a history of cancer. You are more than just a person who has had breast cancer, and you may be living with the symptoms everyday rather than identifying as someone who has survived cancer.
In effort to be a program for all women who are living a life with a history of breast cancer, whether or not you identify with the term “survivor”, here is our definition of survivorship as it pertains to this program;
“ Living through, and beyond breast cancer. Breast cancer survivorship begins at the end of initial cancer treatment and continues for the months and years after, focusing on managing the effects of cancer treatment, reducing recurrence, and the long term effects of breast cancer.”
