Kamloops Annual Shoe Memorial

Kamloops Annual Shoe Memorial To honour the memory of women killed in violence and to raise public awareness, a collection of women's shoes will be displayed with a name card attached..

A name card affixed to each pair of donated shoes will represent a woman killed in violence; and all the names will be displayed on a Memorial Board. After the memorial the shoes are given to the Women's Shelter for Women in need.

Today is Red Dress Day, a day to honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit people.

We stand in solidarity with families and First Nations communities, and reaffirm the importance of awareness, action, and ongoing work to address violence and support safety for all ❤️

The Kamloops Shoe Memorial was held yesterday, December 6, 2025. The shoes do not just represent the numbers of murderd women and girls and gender identified victims due to domestic violence, they represent a person that is missed and was loved no longer with us. We need to do better. End gender based violence and hatred now.
