YKA Hot Chocolate Festival

10/04/2026

Did you know that one of the Mount Paul Community Food Centre programs offered is Community Meals; where nutritious, healthy meals are prepared at the centre and shared with community members looking for a good meal, social connection, or both.

Each Community Meal welcomes between 100–150 people from our community, twice a week. That’s 300 meals right here in your neighbourhood.

While we patiently wait for the Hot Chocolate Festival there’s a delicious way you can help support these meals this holiday season: the Holiday Cheer Box.

For just $25, each box is filled with 12 classic holiday favourites, including:
🍪 Snickerdoodles🍪 Shortbread🥧 Butter tarts🍫 Nanaimo bars

And the sweetest part? Proceeds go directly toward supporting Community Meals.

The YKA Hot Chocolate Festival is coming….

Our 2026 festival was our biggest yet! 18 local cafés and restaurants raised over $9,000 for the CFC, more than double the year before.

Now we’re dreaming about 2027 and looking for local cafés, restaurants, bakeries, food businesses, and sponsors to join us.

Signature hot chocolates are sold throughout February, and help raise funds for local food programs. Customers will vote for their favourites, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards up for grabs.

Interested in participating or becoming a festival sponsor? We’d love to hear from you: [email protected]

Let’s grow, cook, drink hot chocolate, and build community together.

Hello hot chocolate lovers!

As we count down to the next festival (only 9 months away… 👀), we’re excited to start sharing more about the CFC; the non-profit organization behind it all.

Each month, we’ll highlight news, programs, and events that reflect the heart of what we do.

Today, we’re focusing on an important topic: food security. Food security isn’t just about having enough to eat. It’s about access to fresh, healthy, and culturally appropriate food that truly nourishes the body. It’s about connection: to our communities, our traditions, and a deeper understanding of nutrition and balance.

At Mount Paul CFC, one of the ways we support health and connection is through our Community Meal Program, offered every Monday and Thursday from 12–1 pm. No registration required: just good food, welcoming faces, and meaningful connections.

Stay tuned as we continue to share more stories and initiatives from the CFC in the months ahead.
