Have you heard about the forming of a Youth Climate Corps to address the "Climate Emergency" we're now facing? Kamloops youth (and those who support youth in the current climate crisis) follow this link... https://actionnetwork.org/events/kamloops-for-a-youth-climate-corps?source=direct_link&Youth to RSVP for joining a March 18th youth-hosted "Watch Party" (in which people get together to tune-in for an online event from 3:30-6:00pm) at TRU. Here's a great last minute gift for your favourite university student - easy to carry and easy to use laundry and cleaning products that are also easy on the environment! If you make purchases on December 22nd or 23rd through KHIC's fundraising link, you'll help the club receive 10% more of the profits (30% rather than 20%)!!!
At this link: http://tru-earth.sjv.io/HybridInteractClub on Dec. 22-23, your purchases will help rotary youth reach their local, national and international goals.

Happy Holidays can be happier when you give a gift that helps the planet too! AND, if you use KHIC's NEW LINK: http://tru-earth.sjv.io/HybridInteractClub the club will receive 20% of the proceeds from purchases to put toward their fundraising efforts for local, national and international projects!
We've mentioned it before, but we'll say it again - there are great reasons to buy these great products:
1. Say good-bye to plastic packaging that is harming our planet
2. Purchase a product that is less eco-intensive when shipped (a lower carbon footprint is the result when transport trucks are not moving liquid-filled, heavy plastic bottles).
3. Give the gift of a light-weight easy to use product: university students will appreciate not hauling a heavy bottle on their long walk from the shops to the dorms; and those you love who are young at heart - now they won't have to experience the heavy lift and pour!
4. You can help your friends and family fall in love with the product the way you have - the more people who use this product, the less plastic will arrive in landfills and our oceans.

Our community forest project collaborators, Aberdeen Neighbourhood Association, have created a message about our upcoming event and done a really nice job of thanking our supporters. https://mailchi.mp/98b4903d534d/dont-miss-this-fun-planting-event-oct-28th?fbclid=IwAR3wTJ0CeegipwlBj4e1ijU_AlBXVe7iQi8Mdh4pXXl4ZLNsUqx6wvA53dU Between being the recipients of a Climate Action Grant from the City of Kamloops, to receiving donations and volunteer supports from businesses within our community, to receiving funds and inspiration from an organization in Ontario, we feel really fortunate! Hope to see you on October 28th!

Have you seen this beautiful poster, designed by a Kamloops Hybrid Interact Club (KHIC) member who is a new student at TRU this year? KHIC contributes to local, national and international projects with an aim to gain the experience of service above self. We are excited about the community forest project and hope that everyone will come out to the fun and inclusive event we have planned for October 28th!
